Not surprised. Your car is 18000 years more advanced than anything they have ever worked

Yeah I have had 3 of my cars wired and tuned by them, a lot of performance modifications, and as of recent a full build on an rb motor.

Very happy with the work, the results and don't seem to be overpriced like other shops I've delt with in the past.

Is yours that green ute in there? I was asking about that the other day when I was in there.

Apparently it came in for an exhaust and a tune up, and the oil pump let go out on a ford track day/ skid pan?

Thanks to all of u for replying. Yes it did do the fpv day.and the oil pump was fine.my problem is the fact they took my engine out before asking me.as it wasn't necessary to pull the engine to check the oil pump.there are other issues I will let u no how I go.And I wud agree as spanner mechics they are fine. This was and is a problem now .thsnks for ur input.

Hi Blast from the past, I was advised to post a comment on the site to get feed back of good and bad experiences of any car enthusiasts,I am happy you have had success with your race car, that's where we differ,,, mine is an all but new car..The issue is '''removal with out consent'''' and failure to re install the engine'' there have been numerous issues along the way which could of been avoided. This mater will be resolved and become a bad memory and my advise to you would be to get the facts before you comment,,,As mine are true to the word I have nothing to gain from bagging south side dyno boys.I understand your allegiance from your obvious friendship with Greg and Simon, Mine is business that's as clean as I can make it. thanks for your input

re vmax203hp [M] I cant get my head around your issue removal with out consent as i stopped into the drive way and you were watching the removal and again later sat afternoon were back again for progress report.Yes i do reconise you You say that you have nothing to gain bagging sth side dyno so can you tell me why local parts suppliers have said you really let fly and bad mouth sth side dyno? Also you stated you have no faith in sth side dynos work yet now try and make an issue of failure to install the engine???yes ihave my facts 100%and will back sth side dyno witness etc please dont dig your self deeper come clean

I look forward to meeting you and once again I work on facts, not on what you have been told, or what you think was going on. you might be advised to think about this a car one year old 1500klm on the clock goes in for a mild tune and ends up with no engine ,, der , 100% true and there are heaps of issues that happened before it got this far, this will be resolved, and as for bagging I would ask you again to get your facts right bagging or utter disappointment very different this never needed to get this far but for stupidity on your friends at south side.so again work on facts because what you you say is..... hear say,,, not admissible, thanks for your input ,

As a point blast. U r a 100% wrong.as I was not there when the engine was removed.or it wouldn't of been.and as for ur expertise you lower the ftont coss member to remove the sump to remove the oil pump.which was like new.so the engine did not need to come out.And ur right I have lost faith in south side.now as a car enthusiasts understand how u would feel.if it was s race car ok.its not its a all but brand new car entrusted to experts to do a easy job that went bad .this could of been sorted but for stupidity. So again put ur brain in gear before ur mouth.facts are facts.thanks again .

Pardon my ignorance, would Ford not have sorted this out under warranty as it only has 15000klms, I understand the F6 may be higher tuned spec than a normal turbo xr6, but I put 70,000 extreme kilometers on my BA and never once had any issues with the engine.
It was my lease car so was just serviced normally by Ford, it was more than happy to spend all day on the limiter through, Mt Glorious, Nebo and Maleny Hills. I did run it in very carefully, had it serviced early and didn't abuse it until after the first service, then bashed it like a red headed step child.

Can you explain to me how a tune can affect the primary lubrication of an engine, I can understand VCT clusters, lean burnt pistons etc. Was the rev limiter removed? and the FPV day was too much for it?

I just so happened to passing into the shop the day the engine was removed. come clean as I am 100% sure that you were fully aware that the oil pump was already diagnosed as faulty. so you knew either it was to be fixed or you pay your bill and put it back on the tow truck and take it that day. but your choice was to fix it which im sure if you wernt such a complete tool they would have helped you out seeing as the timing was bad. but no your choise was to go round behind simon and gregs back bad mouthing and trying to find fault in the work they did. so come clean and tell the truth. more than 1 person have called you out on your shit so far. and im sure there will be more. I trust the boys at south side dyno as I am soon to have an engine build by them.

Hi car lovers, the car, the car had issues with he tune from the start,I was contacted to collect the car when I drove it it was in limp mode, this happen twice and would not run on tick over.Apparently the rev limiter was lowered , I have been advised that putting a 3'' exhaust without the waist gate on the turbo enlarged will create turbo creep and over boost,so there is one reason why the mechanic was having trouble and took all day to get it to go as well as it did before the mods .. I will maintain the issue is with the,,,, removal and re install,,,,Had the diagnosis been correct it still wouldn't of resulted in the removal of the engine.,,,,,,Blue vs,,, as you were passing and seem to no so much about this and are so sure it was the oil pump why would you take the engine out if you could do it by lowering the cross member and sump,,,,,, Which is what I was told would happen no mention of engine removal. Now I don't have time and am over trying to explain for other people's actions. so watch this space and I will let you no the out come. thank you for your input all be it a bit bias but that's human nature, over and out, thanks

Changing the dump pipe without doing the wastegate mod with larger flapper does not cause boost creep. It will if its not tuned once the exhaust is put on. But if they have it on the dyno after the exhaust is changed then they can easily tune it without boost creep. It just means you can't run more than 14PSI without boost creep.

My tuner at real dyno told me that he prefers the wastegate not to be ported as its easier to tune with some form of restriction in the exhaust system.

My car took 4 hours to tune to 400 HP. My mate has an xr6 turbo with the exact same mods minus the flapper and wastegate mod. He made 420 HP on same boost. No boost creep.

Hey trx.i would suggest you tslk to mtq .you mite get some valuable information on turbo creep and overboosting.aftet all that's all they do.cheers

I've never had Boost creep. I know what it is. I log it constantly and review every week.

I would suggest you take up some literacy lessons.

Drop in and have a chat to Simon or Greg mate.

I saw the other week they are actually building a crazy engine for an old falcon ute atm too.

Have a chat with them and see what you think, they get a lot of old school work and engines in there.
Even though my cars have all been turbo powered, very knowledgable. smile.gif
