Lowering isn't normally too expencive.. Set of King Springs will do it.. maybe some better shocks.
if you're in brisbane two places worth calling are:
TSR on Moss street in slacks creek
or your local Fulcrum.

Although if you're southside brisbane i met the owner of Pedders at Browns Plains and he seemed massively knowledgeable and pedders gear is normally pretty good.

Be careful with Pedders. i went to the Pedders in Morooka and was advised i had four ruined shocks and they were all bleeding fluid and needed to be replaced, expected cost ~2000 for replacement of damaged parts and labour.

Went to my regular mechanic back on the Sunshine Coast and he said he couldn't find any fluids from shocks and that they seem to be perfectly fine.

Yeah we've all had experiences like that.. i know i've had quite a few with dodgy mechanics
one event tried to charge me for a battery hygrometer check on a dry cell batter and $50 for a new air filter (although my massive over sized bright yellow aftermarket uni-filter was still on the car).

It's definitely worth being careful no matter where you go. TSR did the suspension on my car and i've always been happy.
Fulcrum are supposed to be good (although i hear varying reviews at times, but i think that's a lot to do with the franchise)

$250 for a set of kings springs via ebay
$60 for spring compressor tool @ supercheap. (approximately)

that's probably the only 'specialist' tool that you may not have. most people have the rest of the tools that the job would require.

or you can pay someone else to do the work, at a guesstimate $800-1000 in total for parts and labour.

now would you like to do the work yourself and save 500+, that is the question........

edit: just found this..... person's selling the spring compressors for $25 on ausrotary.

I have done this on multiple vehicles, check king spring pricing on ebay, then check with local suspension place, sometimes if you buy a set of springs from place they will fit them to the struts out of the car for nothing, also good deal with wheel alignment etc
