I may be in the market for a new car soon and am interested to know what you think of 300's any thing I should watch out for???

I am after something different, I think they look cool and are pretty uncommon.

Thanks for the feedback!!!

dont get it. cuase i want one tongue.gif hehe jks.

awesome cars. engine bay heat is probably their biggest issue. ive got plans to fix that though wink.gif . read up carefully on it and youll know what problems are effecting the what models and how to fix them.

are u wanting turbo or n/a?

go for it. they are something different, although there are a few cruising around already, i cant get enough of em thumbsup.gif

just be careful because some of them can be very problomatic. but others work a dream. it all depends i guess. just get lucky

Yeah they look pretty nice. But I dont like too many unless they are dun up, with completely different kits etc. They are such a different looking car its hard to make em look good.

I heard they are hard to modify due to engine design and engine bay size. Plus intercooler work is harder or something. Could be all bullshit.

But Ive seen a lot of modded 300's. Up to 800hp in japan, I have a pic of it somewhere. Great lookin cars when done up.

there a mad CAR !!!! just make sure you have a good look at the one you wanna buy, cause alot of things are hidden in the engine bay that you dont think to look at that can become a problem.

but it is the same with any car i guess, i'd say go for a later model one say a 92 model or something..
i love the car they handle great with minimal suspention mods and go hard without alot of engine mods...
there is one at APC thats tuned to 190kw at the wheels on stock everything cept ecu, it has a haltech piggy back.. throw a set of gt2530's or similar on and you will be crackin the 220kw easy...

i'm getting 191 at the mo with a set of gt2530's on stock boost so they can be easily modded just gotta find someone who is willing to................ i'm lucky enough to know a few decent zed mecanics and i have had alot of help from fellow zedders, so if you end up buying one throw me a pm i'll come look over the car for ya and help you find a decent place to mod it wink.gif thumbsup.gif

cheers Jamie

i herd they are waaaay too heavy, too small an engine bay, and too much engine bay heat

broke my heart cos i really like the look of them and figured that TT must go hard with proper work.. few nice ones getting around brisbane these days.

silvias and 180s hold alot of heat in the engine bay as well but if you throw a set of bonnet spacers in you have no probs with heat also removing the splash guard helps too just as long as you dont go through deep puddles...
as being to heavy they are 1457 kilos which is wet weight too so they aren't really that heavy not like it matters with the amount of torque the motor puts out...

i'm gonna be here all night getting rid of the bad rumors of zeds i can see it tongue.gif

shit driver cliff i 'seen' a fairly stock zed take on a new xr6 turbo n had him 4 a few gears. Ohh n its 5.5seconds 0 - 100 and like 13.9 1/4 i think. Engine bay heat is the main problem.. All i can say is Zeds are the more rarer import,( my opinion) and when u do 1 up ur very original. smile.gif

n i love em wub.gif tongue.gif

A twin turbo one? I can vouch for the fact that the twin turbo 300zxs have 300hp at the engine, weighing just under 1500 kilos they are a little heavier than some but still are pretty farkin' fast.....

If you beat one in a stock VP SS I'll go buy a VP right now laugh.gif .
Tim Ribs gave a twin turbo 300zx a run last night on his Honda CBR250RR and got owned.... 3 times!! tongue.gif

that 300 that gave tim ribs a go wasnt a red one with huge exhausts and bonnet scoopes by any chance was it

I don't like them for only one thing.

I saw one after an accident, driver must of been going at a decent rate, anyway, it was wrapped around a pole. Doesn't really look like the car has heaps of protection on the sides, cause this one looked like it was made out of foil looking at the way it was bent.

I'd never buy one purely after looking at that accident.

Oh - the driver died too. You wanna be another fatality?

actually ive read/heard they run 6.6 for 100kmh. and i downloaded a clip of a 300zx worked up to like 700hp and a old 89 supra tt supra thrashing it happy.gif the supra ran 10.86 or something and the 300zx ran like 12.. does this mean its hard to make em fly?

I've always loved 300's...and dreamed of owning a TT version, with the targa roof! They are just so phat, they are the ultimate cruising mobile, and are definately one of the the rarest nissan imports.

Geez I've got so many cars planned for my multi car garage when I'm older biggrin.gif

If you wait until about half way through next year, you can pick up a real nice 89 300zx for chips. CHIPS... 15 yr ruling means no compliance necessary, i imported my r32 myself, not a single problem with it, I can get the contacts for you and all if you're interested aight.. thumbsup.gif

I dont know much about them, but i know i love em, new or old, the ZED series is frieken awesome and 300's top it off. As being said before they arent seen too much on the cruising scene so you will have a more noticable car, and if u start doing some work to it, your definately gonna be noticed.

Has anyone seen the red 300 witht he flame paint job on it, on the side its like this hand with a flaming sword ripping through the metal, and on the bonnet instead of the ZED badge there is a flamming Z in its place. I think this one is frieken awesome, makes me love them more.

is this the one ur talkin about

The Z32s are great cars but expensive to keep them that way.

Over the last 12 months I have spent around $7000 in services, wear & tear repairs, insurance etc. Quite a bit to keep it on the road but in my opinion they are worth every cent!

Go for it, they're awesome cars.
Just watch out for the hidden surprises you sometimes come across regarding heating issues and lack of room to mod in the engine bay.
