Ive heard yours off the clip before and dont mind it but... not really a fan of the note that comes from an EFI V8, rather the sound of a cammed up Carby V8 any day smile.gif

They are two very different sounds to me-equally cool. A mk (2?) Stang just drove by me before...gurgling and farting and generally being menacing-it's cool in it's own right. I also love the sound of a highly managed, efficient V8, like in the modern Germans. The only V8 noise I generally don't like is the farty, boomy sound of modern Australian ones...and to some extent American ones. (The Zr1 sounds glorious though).
The '63 Mercs are dangerously close to the sound of an HSV to me, while the NA '55s are a mich nicer "cleaner" kind of "jackhammer scream" (as Clarkson put it).

Don't get me wrong, i do like the note of some new model V8's but thats only if they have had a bit of work done to them, not a fan when they just put on an after market exhaust...

I grew up around old school V8's, hot rods, aussie muscle cars so naturally im going to favour the sound of a nice cammed up carby V8, just like my Fairlane tongue.gif

It has got to sound better than a Ferrari v8 though, they sound shocking, The F430, F458, they all sound very "restricted" like they're choking
