Im not that fucking smart on the technicle side of things and i wanted to no if it was possible or if it ould fuck up, you dont have to dis me cos you no more shit than me. a simple yes it wouild work or no it wouldnt and why would of done, but you go on with shit like "why don't you buy a boost guage and blow off valve while your at it."

Righteo

I think he has what he needs to know. No more giving him shit for his incompetence. I'm sure we were all the same whe we started getting into cars.

the intake temp will not really differ. as turbo air can come out at 200c+ and ur intake would be 40

so just do cold air intake, not worth it and wouldnt really do much

Hmmm mabe a small water to air intercooler with a very little number of fins MAY work in bringing the air temp down (sort of like the dry ice idea). Small number of fins so that the pressure drop through the core isnt as much (can be a bit in air to air fmic's)

The reason why the air heats up in turbo cars -

*Compression of the air by the intake turbine.....by taking a set ammount of air and "squashing" it up generates thermal byproducts (heat hahaha!)
*Because of exhaust turbines and other underbonnet heat sources
*Other little things.........

As other people have mentioned your money would be much better spent on exhaust/extractors/cams/computer/fuel supply/NOS and other small things such as plug indexing etc... only once all these other avennues have been exhausted would u start to look at things like intercooling...everyone has a turbo these days so going a tuff NA setup would give u somethign very unique....be the sheapard not the sheep!

u guys are fuk heds, give the guy a break he asked a simple question looking for an answer not looking for fuk heds that think they're mr cool to come n dis him for not knowing as much about cars as them.

May be "fuk heds"

But we are semi-literate enough to be able to spell "Fuck Head"

Go back to preschool mate...

My 4 year old step-sister can type better than you and your riceboy mate put together...

I'll tell you one thing... new posties always get hammered on this site and a lot of the time i think it's because they don't take the time to get in tune with the site before they start posting.

I think the admins should put in a two week "learning" period before new members are able to post. If they are keen enough they will wait it out. I know i was reading this site for close to 6 months before i signed up. Just a thought.

Not such a bad idea there OppsiteLock .... i used to look thru the site for months until i wanted to reply to something and ask a question, so i signed up.

Sometimes 'stupid' questions arent always asked thru lack of knowledge , some people just want a shit-fight.

the only reason i asked was because i couldnt any information on it. Isnt that why this forum is here so that peolple can ask questions, if it was a fuck ass stupid question an admin would have locked it if they been watching the threads. and even if there was a 2 week period i would have asked after that 2 week period because it was a genuin question.

Grimwolge, were you referring to me as riceboy??

Seriously man, to reply to your question again.
Having an intercooler without a turbo kind of defeats the whole purpose. So the answer is 'No'. smile.gif

I can't beleive how some people carry on on this site. The poor bugger asks a legitimate question in the right area and some keyboard smartarses decide to have a group pay out! Grow up you fools. EVERYONE HAS TO LEARN SOMEWHERE, INCLUDING YOU! I hope anyone that has made a smartarse reply to the poor guy gets absolutley hammered by moderators because you bloody deserve it.

To help you out mate it was a good idea in theroy, but not practical. Some really good cold air induction and the purchase of one of those Hicloyne products will work wonders. I have bought 3 of those previously and seen the dyno results to prove they work. Good luck with it and don't let the keyboard tuff guys get to you on here.

Ive been toying round with the idea of using a smallish intercooler too cool the air goin into the manifold with out runing a turbo. Just want to know do you think it would have enough pressure and would it provide much of a HP boost. Also thinking of getting water/alcohole sprayer to spary the cooler.

hahahahahahahahahahaha biggrin.gif hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha biggrin.gif hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahaha biggrin.gif hahahahahahaha biggrin.gif

Listen to King of the Concrete Jungle . I think he knows his stuff pretty well.

P.S. 2003 323 ---> These things can fully hammer without a turbo thumbsup.gif

How much do they increase the power?

I picked up 10kw in my 2001 Holden Rodeo Sport 3.2 DOHC V6 4WD, 14kw in IH8WRX and 9kw in my VS SS.

On top of the extra KW's I got it also improved my fuel economy buy around 10% in all 3 vehicles. The heaviest vehicle on fuel I own is the Rodeo, it guzzles fuel but I now get pretty good fuel consumption out of it. I modified its air pick up system, decent extactors and exhaust system and fit the Hyclone. It was 140kw standard, it now puts out 170kw at the flywheel. Could have gone further and fitted cam head work etc etc (they do this to the Jacaroo's for rallying and safari races etc) but didn't see the need as I got a decent power upgrade buy those mods alone. Anyone thats been in my Rodeo can testify it gets up and hammers and due to it's DOHC configiration it will do a standard 3.8V6 commodore of the line.

Bottom line is the Hyclones work and you won't regret buying them if you do.

ive seen them work as well, but only if the intake system on that engine is inferior enough to actually need it

I have put a HiClone on a 3.0 V6 24valve Magna (no dyno) and I couldn't notice any power increase, but feul economy did increase, on avrage used to get about 20-30 k's per tank more with the hiclone.
