Doesn't look like there are too many clouds in the area according to BOM ...

Fingers crossed it doesn't come to the circuit and all we get is some nice ambient temps for racing ...

Good Luck all thumbsup.gif

My virgin effort scored me a 1.06.0300

My big challenge is to overcome the mid-corner understeer. I really need to get my Kaaz 1.5way installed, as I believe that it could make a lot of difference (anyone want to comment?). I guess we'll just have to wait and see though.

adjustable coilovers will go a long way to correcting any sort of understeer / oversteer handling imbalance.

Thunderbolt, another option for correcting over/under steer is adjusting tyre pressures

my car tends to snap oversteer if im not careful, so i run the rear tyres about 4 psi less pressure than the front, but this will depend on the type of tyre you are using as well (im using semi slicks)

ThunderBolt
Post #96

Yeah I have coilovers in it, and was running 36psi in my front tyres and 32psi in rear (cold pressure), which I have found good from experience. The main problem being is that I can't power down as early as I would like and the tail won't try to kick out until coming out of the corner.

Oh well, it will give me something to work towards next time.

Looking at the photo's it just looks like you need to get someone to have a look at your suspension set up and get a bit of camber into it smile.gif

front or rears? I can do the fronts easily enough as I have camber tops, but didn't think of that yesterday.

Probably a bit of both ...

Getting the correct camber will help you with holding more corner speed and getting power through the corners smile.gif

As much camber at the front as possible, Not as much rear, depending on tyres as well. Theres alot to play with really. Run lower tyre pressures as well as u were on Semi's weren't u? Harder side walls means u can lower the pressures as they don't get the flex of street tyres = more grip

jezza323
Post #101

i run 28psi cold in the front of my car, 25ish in the rear...on silverstone semis smile.gif

Yeah, was on semis. Nothing like yours though. tongue.gif

I will try lowering the front presusre a bit more next time and giving it some more camber. I know my car has potential, so once I get the setup right it should be good.

garlic_s5rx7
Post #103

You wouldn't want too much camber up front? only 2-3 degrees??? I would of thought any more than that and would want to start looking for some bigger sway bars?? Correct me if i'm wrong but too much camber reduces the contact with the road and thus reduces the braking ability??
