OMG, how hard is it to change a set of tyres....what is wrong with these ppl

MEV09
Post #1157

doing all trye wheel anything changes through neal lowe now. at least i know he treats my car like its ment to be treated. jealous pricks in tyre shops that thrash cars should be flicked. Just a notice if anyone knows where neal lowe is you would know there is a big dealership just up the road and he tells me that they thrash cars up and down that street all day. for all you holden drivers.

thanks for PM MEVO9
i've got bridgestone potenza's on my car atm, got a discount from the owner of the tire shop because of the engine switch trouble.

yeah racing i run potenzas this was just the street tyres i use (goodyear eagle F1's). might step back into the yokies next time.

might try out the falken 615's next time as well close to re55 price

MEV09 can I get the name of the shop also?

I have changed to Potenza 001's since my last outing, just driving on the street there is a huge difference. Will be good to see how they hold up on the track (also run 17" rims)

actually to be fair, I am going from 205/55/16 (Falkien something???) at the front to 235/45/17 and 225/50/16 (Blue Streeks) to 235/45/17...

*hijacks thread*

hey guys, what wheel diameter has the largest semi slick base?. like i want at least a 17inch rim, are there plenty of semi slicks for 17's, or am i better off going 18's?

cheers kyal happy.gif

EDIT: for got to ask, would i be better off going a high performance street tyre?. the car is for track only, so that where i thought semi slicks

I'd imagine 17s have a fairly large selection - I'd probably be more inclined to believe 18s would be narrowing the range.

Edit: http://www.federaltyres.com/specs/ss595rs.pdf - That's the list of available sizes for the Federal 595 Semi's, 5 choices for 17s, 5 for 18s. Falken is similar in choice for the RT615s.

the federal 595RS and falken RT615's are not a true R compound semi slick, more of a sticky road tyre with large tread blocks

if it is a track only car....and gets trailered around, id go 18's. there always seem to be plenty of 2nd hand 18" porsche slicks around the place smile.gif aint that right pete? wink.gif

No sprints this time for me but will be doing TopGear on Sunday.

Is anyone else on here doing TopGear this weekend? Garlic? Phatcore? You owe it to yourselves! ... actually, you know how useless I am, I think you should come and be pit crew. In the 34 degree heat. Bring a hat. For me. thumbsup.gif
