The Top Gear meets sound like a great mixed bag of competitors ...

I might come take some piccies if there are enough people off Boost who compete in it smile.gif

Top gear has certainly got me interested smile.gif

I have been using decent road pads for the sprints without too many problems, I wonder how they would hold up on the longer tracks and with other cars being more around ?

I assume its standing starts ?

Yeah, proper gridded standing starts. That's one of my weak points, I am yet to get a start which I think is competitive with everyone else. One example here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CTd6dbj3ODM

Also other vids up there, one of my in-car from last sprints which shows Number 39 disappearing into his own atomic dust cloud in turn 1 as I come around. But he can't feel too bad, the previous lap he left me on the main straight like I was standing still.

I don't know about using decent road pads for a whole day of TopGear though. The previous owner of my car had tried combinations and turns out the best bang for buck (for my car at least) was to give Danielle at Brock Shop a call and get them to send out some 'race pads'. That's literally all I referred to them as and she seemed to know which ones I was after.

PS - I *think* for TopGear (and the new QR race series), that if you have a group of 15 or 20 or so people who want to race together, then you can be a category of your own. So if you get say 20 people off boostcruising who want to try a day of gridded start door handle to door handle racing, then you could have your own boostcruising class. So then you can either come home respecting each other or hating each other's guts, depending on how the racing goes! thumbsup.gif
