I heard the black GTR ran sub 55's and petes supra was doing 57's, so they would definately be the top 2... i was told the gtr (same car that featured in dutton rally) was in the mid 55s. i wasnt there this time around , my best was a 56.4 a couple rounds ago. results should be up in the next few days anyway. |

I heard the black GTR ran sub 55's and petes supra was doing 57's, so they would definately be the top 2... I hand timed the GTR at a 55.5sec lap with some minor traffic to deal with so a clear run would have been faster obviously. I have heard rumuors of a 54.xx being his best time. I had wastegate issues (again) which limited me to only 9psi so my best was only a 57.5 on the day. GTRVspec95, thanks for the pictures mate, you've done yourself proud with the quality mate. That last pic of tree fitty z seems to be him cleaning up a bit of a mess maybe. I guess the nipple pinching worked a treat for him... |

Lookint at that shot, it looks like it is turn 6, so I would say the s15 is over taking the escort... though, the escort is no slug, it runs 59's on a good day... |

I think you need to do your research ... A quick google search found a GENUINE 1966 GT40 (Chassis #1065) was auctioned in the States in 2002 for USD $436,500 (Approximately AUD $550,000) http://www.gt40s.com/forum/all-gt40/9874-a...ial-1065-a.html The replica GT40's are the more feasible option to owning own of these unique beasts but they still cost a packet. I know Roaring Forties is a company in Victoria that specialises in replicas ( http://www.roaringforties.com.au/ ) if you are actually serious in owning one |

QUOTE(S15_Clint @ Dec 13 2006, 06:26 PM) Its not exactly just an Escort anyhow... Runs an SR20det i think! Has some grunt on the straights! Clint Red Escort has a 4ltr Lexus V8 in it controlled by an Autronic ecu. The tyres on my "Camry" were shot so I was kind of glad it wasnt making full boost in a way as it was struggling to get out of corners with only half boost. I wasnt going to bother replacing them with only one track day left for the year, however January will be a different story with some new bits being gathered for it as we speak. Shooting for some new fastest lap times in February just before the 1st 2007 TopGear round. |

QUOTE(mosport @ Dec 14 2006, 04:34 PM) entry forms are here http://www.queenslandraceway.com.au/entry_..._gear_entry.pdf whats the deal with scrutineering and vehicle requirements ? how full on is the racing ? how many laps for each race ? Basically as per S513BTurbo said. They run each class in turn for qualifying etc. Qualifying 10min- Sportsman track Race 1, 5 laps- National track Race 2, 5 laps- Sprint track Race 3, 5 laps- Clubman track Race 4, 5 laps- Sportman track Race 5, 7 laps- National track (reverse grid handicap based on qualifying times and race 1 results. Theory is that all cars should hit finish line at same time but that never works. Last round I was handicapped by 2minutes lol) Scrutineering is fairly relaxed but they do look for major safety aspects. Adequate rollcage protection, in date race suit and gloves, helmet etc. Oil catch cans, external battery isolator, functional brake lights, seat securely mounted and vehicle not looking like its going to explode on first lap. Racing is serious, but not cut-throat. There are no cash prizes, no pats on the back for bad sportsmanship by blocking repeatedly. Its all meant to be good clean competition with everyone leaving at the end of the day with a car that only needs a wash and refuel to compete again next time. There are no major teams with sponsorship so everyone has to pay their own repair bills so there are no heroics on the track. At the end of the day the last feature race there are 3 trophies handed out in each class for the first 3 across the line. The primary reward for the day is personal not finacial so you know everyone is out there for the love of the sport. Everyone is more then willing to help out, and there are some real interesting cars that turn up. Sedans are usually the biggest field and the one with the greatest disparity between slowest and fastest too lol. Has everything from an Ex CAT Racing V8 Supercar and Bo Seton built Capri sports sedan running a homologation Sierra cosworth engine down to HQ sedans and Gemini's. |
