I picked up my VX Series II Lumina wagon for 8k....

IPB Image

I love it so nice to drive, the auto's are a bit lame in their changes, but unless you're planning to join the touring car circuit i wouldnt worry too much, doesnt have that much power down low, but once you get moving, she pokes along alright

It doesnt come with a sheep though, that was a factory option

Mate, get a VX super6 and youll never look back. 10psi the sucker, decent exhaust and she'll be flying. Not to mention the fact that you got fuck all chance of getting a stock supercharged VS for a resonable price, was looking for one in brisbane for bout 2 years and they all wanted too much for em.

how about u get a series 2 (series 2 are much better then 1) vr/vs commodore and then put an SV6 Alloytech V6 that come stock with 190kw at the flywheel and then if u really want some more power then get a supercharged kit from CAPA and u will have plenty of power and a new engine

Yeah and 30 grand later, you'll have a quick vr/vs! bowrofl.gif

forget the vs as its a piece of shit

how many vs's have you owned/been in.

i'd take a reliable vs over an unpredictable vt anyday. the VT was all new body, and had all new problems. the vs on the other hand was the last of that series of style and was much more reliable.

go the vx - my wife curses the fact that she ever wasted money on a series 2 acclaim VT. Our series 2 VX acclaim shits all over the vt's and not just my opinion but other family members who have had constant troubles with the vt. Our wagon put out 145hp stock, and with full exhaust and extractors she moves quite well, takes some ppl for surprise. go drive one of each and find out for yourself.

ive lost count on how many vn,vr,vs,vt,vu,vx,vy,, ive fix repaired and driven and there all crud the vz on the other hand is only good coz they pissed off that piece of shit buick v6 engine and built a alloy tech engine that is a moden engine unlike trying to make a 1950 engine compete in the late 1990s

does that awnser your question but if it doesnt i work on holdens

they are the same base ecotec. the supercharged version jumped in power from vs to vt, but so did the car's weight.

the engine in the vs changed slightly. well, the water pump did.

each to there own i guess...there are a lot of nice vn's duno bout vr's, vs's, vx's n vy's out there...but i do agree that the alloy tech engine is a lot better.

I know. It was a joke. I bore and hone the block / resize the con rod big ends / rebuild the oil pumps on a weekly basis. The motor is identical, just the engine numbers are in a different lay out.

I have nothing against Holdens, I'm just sick of them at work cos they're such a pain in the ass to do.

I haven't seen an alloytec in at work yet, so that can only be a good thing, right?

go the vx spend the money on buying the car to begin with rather than buying a cheaper old car and having to fix everything 3 months after you buy it. IMO vs/vt's are abolute shit, (build quality and on-road feel both suck big time in the cars ive been in) and apart from the more responsive right pedal, i'll stick with my 18 year old camry any day over a 8-10 year old commo... patiently awaits flaming from holden fans tongue.gif
