As a comparison for you a MR2 did 12.5 @ 110mph at Willowbank's Test n Tune Wednesday night

thebluerx7
Post #282

110mph is capable of 11's with a big grip setup.if ur running slicks and a huge clutch dump style launch u will def run low 12's or better with 110mph.if normal tyres and launch grip then around the hi12/low 13's yes.

I haven't been home to get the email from my inbox so I've asked them to send it to me at work again today, I'll post it up the second I have the info.

Need a tailshaft loop if you run quicker than 12.50 IIRC. I have one smile.gif

Also, to throw a spanner in the works, I ran 13.5@115mph. So trap speeds can be pretty similar and big ET differences.

I never knew about the 110mph harness rule. I was planning on running 11's anyway so I have half installed my harness at the moment.

Ok straight from the rule book:

360 degrees of enclosure, 3mm(1/8 inch) minimum thickness and 50mm (2 inches) wide, or 22mm (7/8 inch) X 1.62mm (.065 inch) welded steel tubing, securely mounted and located within 150mm (6 inches) of the front universal joint for support of the drive shaft in event of universal joint failure. It is recommended that the loop be round to minimise loading. On rear wheel drive sedans with fabricated floors, the width and location of the loop should take into account the location of the front yoke and universal in relation to the driver.

ok guys i just got off the phone from the queensland andra division director Dale Jones.

she said the following..

yes if u run under 11.99 you will need a harness, which i have already put the rules up for that a few pages back.

u will definately a need a tailshaft loop aswell.long sleeve shirt,shoes,helmet.

also,if there is an andra steward there and u run too quick eg 10.99,or under ur bracket eg 12.99 or 110mph,and no safety gear eg harnesses,u will be told to stop racing.

she has asked that for all rule enquiries please ring her directly, which is far better than guessing.

so here it is

yeah sorry,no offence intended to urself, you have done a great job so far angels666.

that was more aimed at anyone who is not sure what they have to do for their qtr mile time or mph.if they are not sure ring that person.if its not already posted in the rules so far.also if ur running modified firewalls or something weird done to ur car for eg.

can u find out/do u know already what exactly they look at when u turn up for scrutineering.do they start checkin rubber bushes for play etc or checkin steering play or goin real in depth or what?

or do they just look at the car and check u have the harnesses, tailshaft loop and other major stuff.i just want to be really really sure i have everything covered or i risk wasting hundereds of dollars on accomodation and fuel and time being there with a car i cant race if u know what i mean?

i also have a few mates entered who would also like to know the same things

thanks, keep up the good work angels666.

hahahahahahahah.thats funny.

thanks for ur help.i will be ringing andra today regarding welding in a cross bar for a harness.will let everyone know how i go

thebluerx7
Post #298

ok more updates,i rang andra again.

all cars racing are supposed to have tailshaft loops regardless of times.

any harness bars must be made out or cds or cdw steel,to roll cage specs.so i have ordered a rule book.(the old one though which is fine for most people ar normal times)

anyone wanting info about rules or specs can pm me or whatever and i will pm them back a copy of the page they need.it will be a couple of days till i get the book yet though.

also,angels666,do u know if there will be an andra steward there on the day or not?

i know i will be taking note of the rules and not taking any chances. im likely to run 110mph or bit more so i wont take the chance and not have harnesses cos im in the same situation a blue rx7. aint driving all that way and spending all that money to get the boot. i wanna have an awesome day racing

aint quite up to the point of a 5 point harness yet so a 4 point will do facesjump.gif

simply hook it up to where a baby seat would go on the parcel shelf and to the floor where the stocker seats belts mount

Mr-Rota
Post #307

Might have to go buy one, As i now have a 4.4 ratio diff which means im defently going to break the 110mph sad.gif

Question:

For harness's, Isnt it you need to hook them up so they dont go on more then a 45 degree angle? Meaning you cant loop them behind the seat onto the floor?

minumum 8 mm black zip ties ,must be looped not joined together and must be pulled tight against ur skin till all circulation is cut off ,thats the andra spec:D laugh.gif

here is what i plan to do...its a very rough pic but u get the idea.

Just asked if there would be an ANDRA steward there and unless someone personally organises one, which Willowbank aren't because it's a private event, there won't be one there. However in saying that Willowbank staff WILL enforce all ANDRA's rules.

I'll keep updating the first post with all the relevant rules etc so people don't have to go sifting through this whole thread for information.

Is anyone else's head swimming with all these numbers yet unsure.gif
