In your shed? dunno.gif

First things first - it's illegal

Second thing - Do a search on 'tinting lights' or 'tinted lights' or similar. There was a topic fairly recently that covered it quite in depth and had some good suggestions. Can't remember whether it was in General Discussion or Technical chat. Most, if not all people who have them have done it themselves with some paint or product. Can't say I've read of having it 'professionally' done.

a) its illegal
b) half the time it looks like shit
c) don't be surprised when someone runs up your ass 'coz they can't see your brake lights

the best way to do it,

prep your lights, mask of your reverse section, if you dont it will be fuck obvious to police. get some clear paint and mix at about 5%-10% black

get a gun and spray as if you were painting a panel.

take of tape and whack the girls in,

thats how im doing mine anyways.

Wouldn't you just use night shades paint on the inside lense?

I did my headlight covers with it and it looks sweet. Remember that there is about 8 coats on these and they are removeable so 1-2 coats would be it for your rear lights.

I think its a UHT product in a small black/chrome can with a guy with sunnies on. Just ask for nightshades at supercheap and they will know. Have to spray it on the inside though as its not very even unless looked at through a clear surface.

Does the trick thats for sure.

Mix clear and black paint and spray straight over the outside!!!

1. My insurance company has no problems with it.
2. Random car police checks say that they think its fine.
3. Its a fuckload better than that shitty spray on crap in a can!!!
4. It has finished the rear end of my car off nicely!!!

Do what I did, check to make sure your insurance provider will cover it!

Totally illegal however the only time a police officer has ever said anything is parked at the spit. Even then he said to take them off before I drive. Lights don't shine through to much so I take them off.

As stated though, theres about 8 coats on there - if you kept it at say 1-3 I dont think you would have any trouble with police or seeing at night.

i think you would find that tinting headlights would be more cop bait (tongue.gif) than tail lights!

That is true and that is why I only put them on if I know all will be good. And taking them off doesn't even require the bonnet to be popped so I can have them off in 10 seconds if needed!
