don't pay,get a solicitor get a highly recommended detailer and make a new visit and show them the work as well,then file a law suit for damages and report them to MTA for making your ride unroadworthy with the window not being able to wind down properly. |

Office of fair trading for the win.. http://www.fairtrading.qld.gov.au/oft/oftweb.nsf go to a solicitor and get them to write you a letter of demand .. thats what i did and then slug the workshop in question with the legal fees too .. as for naming the business do it. my solicitor told me to spread the word about this work shop both written and verbal he just said to make sure its the truth and is accurate, and JETSPEED QLD did a shit job of my paint and body kit fitment.. and refuse to fix their fuck ups cause they are denying some of it.. hows that for defamation ... ROOKIE ROX... ..

man that is fukd! .... but unfortunately for u, you will have to pay for the job before you can take any legal action! once u have payed for it, then you can go to fair trade, etc. plus i guarantee it is the best option, because geting into a dispute with a business while they still have ur car = more disaster! |

If they let an apprentice do the work, ie one of their employees, and they are charging to do the car, it is their work. If he states the facts, its not defamatory at all, if he was to go on and say "all their work is shit" then that would be totally different. But to me, if a workshop lets even one job like this roll out, their quality control musnt be very high, and this doesnt exactly look like a little job you'd let the work experience guy do |

All apprentices should be supervised whilst working (or at least have someone overseeing them for their work (ie to stop fuck ups like this and make sure job is done correctly). Secondly judging by the poor poor quality of workmenship that has been carried out on this car i would say it wouldnt be the first time corners have been cut or poor quality work produced. If i produced something of that quality at my work I would be fired on the spot. Thirdly you would be correct about the defamation thing. Being a public car forum this site (moderators) has some responsibility to stop defamation happening in the site. Say for instance I didnt like Jo Blow and he owned a workshop and I came onto a public forum and slandered his name all over the boards just because I didnt like him, he would lose alot of business (possibly go bankrupt) all because I didnt like him, even though he may have a very high quality of work others would be going off what you say. He would then sue you and Boostcruising.com for allowing such things to be posted. Like the old saying Innocent until proven guilty. If the person/workshop in question was proven guilty that would be a different matter. this is my friends car, she's spoken to her insurance company about this and it looks like they might write the car off becuase of the costs involved with getting it back to original form, which is more than annoying see as how it has cost almost 30,000 to get to where it is now. |

ROCK ON R~R it is no more difficult to prove that your claim is fair and accurate than it is for the workshop to prove that a loss of business is related to the post. they cant simply show a balance sheet for this financial year and say that they made a loss because of the post that names them, there must be specific evidence of detriment... but having said that, i would not yet name them... |
