Make a formal complaint ?



Just make sure you have a witness..



Take officers details, ring the station they're from and complain away.. don't just do it cos you "just hate police" MAKE SURE YOU HAVE VALID GROUNDS TO DO SO

yah on kelvin grove road a cop was driving next to me talkin on his mobile phone(had it too his ear) so i kept beepin the work utes horn... i told him hahah and he very quickly got offf it.

It *IS* actually ok for them, apparently its for jobs that are too "sensitive" to be discussed over the radio.



If you listen on the scanner, occasionally you will hear the operator ask one of the units to "call in"... That means by fone.



Typically used in hostage etc situations, but if every time I saw a cop on the fone there was a hostage situation, I would probably be in Afganastan.

It's OK for them to do lots of things!



They can do whatever they please as far as traffic rules and regulations go simply because in that department, they are above the law. They can drive their car's in whatever way they see fit.



Officially, it is a bit different, they are supposed to have genuine reason etc to drive the car like a maniac, but it's always a your word against the police officer and his partner deal when it comes to them behaving like fools themselves, plus they can always come back and say "we were on our way to an emergency"...



An event that did occur, and to this day I don't expect anyone to beleive me.. my friend and I witnessed two police car's doing hand brakies (180's) and similar manouvres out on Lomandra Drve, the back road at the airport.



If *only* i had a video cam.. oh well.

If you report police interacting in illegal activity, it must be investigated. If you have evidence of it, then they'll really get fucked on.

In relation to there ability to drive like spastics...They are exempt from the 1949 Traffic Act and the Roads Use and management Act of 1995 whilst executing their duties.

Police can only break traffic laws when they are on their way to prevent a crime, or make an arrest.. no other exception

COMCO (communication co-ordinators) @ Police HQ can issue police on different codes for different situations.



PRIORITY CODES



CODE 1 IMMINENT RISK OF THREAT TO LIFE - LIGHTS, SIREN NOT

USUALLY HEARD



CODE 2 IMMEDIATE RISK OF DANGER OR SERIOUS BODILY HARM

LIGHTS, SIRENS.



CODE 3 NO IMMEDIATE RISK OF DANGER OR BODILY HARM. THE LIGHTS AND SIREN ARE SOMETIMES USED

ACCORDING TO OFFICER'S DISCRETION



CODE 4 DELAYED RESPONSE. NO LIGHTS OR SIREN.







Code 2 Police Vehicles are required to emit visual/audible warning devices, and are generally allowed to break speed limit given driving officer has assesed road for safety conditions (must stop @ red lights/stop signs/intersections before proceeding through)



COMCO Have the discrection at any given time to upgrade/downgrade a given job's priority code, and or terminate a pursuit if excessive speed is used. Pursuing police vehicles involved in a pursuit must read back current speed readings back to COMCO to ascertain if termination is required or not.



All police communication are timestamped and recorded as per requirements for sections Police SOP's, and certain sections of the Crime @ Misconduct Commission/Internal Affairs.

COMCO isnt on the road, COMCO cant see the speed there doing. After witnessing the chase the other night from beerwah to nerang of the stolen gold magna, with approximately 12 police cars, no lights, no sirens behind it, and they said we are doing 120 down gympie road (i watched them all drive past me).



Those r the rules from the book, but as we know the book means nothing on the street.

last week i copped $30 for parkin on grass at home.

on fri i got booked at rbt. as i left i asked about the parking fine they said thats right. they'd do the same. i then pointed behind them and drew there attn to there car parked dead center in the footpath. i said what about that. we'll under section rar rar rar, we can do that. if for police something rather. i said so do you'se have your own rulz. yep they said. and by the way i got the whole thing on video. and just to piss him off his name is

Uhm, When a police vehicle commences a pursuit of a vehicle, readback of speed is mandatory, and is requested at time lapsed intervals. Units who are in pursuit, are required to give street information, signed speed limit information, traffic, pedestrians, anything which may be at risk during pursuit.



COMCO have more information about the current situation than you think.



Perfect example today, Police went to intercept a stolen car @ stones corner, car sped away, and police gave chase. Car proceeded onto wrong side of the rode, pursuing officer passed information over radio, COMCO terminated pursuit.



End of story.

I know of plenty similar occurances, where COMCO has given the order by the rostered duty officer to terminate the chase... they make a decision on whether to allow the police officer to continue the persuit dependant on the risk to public safety and the severity of the crime committed by the persued.

Perfect example...the young guy killed when "COMCO" ordered termination of pursuit, bcuz they already had the rego and had spoken to the driver....but the units continued to pursue the car against "COMCO's" orders. The boy died after goin under a truck, and the two constables in question refused to give evidence on the grounds of self incrimination

Worst thing about the traffic police is that there the dumbest cops on the force, apparently there the ones who score the lowest in all the academy tests. Its fairly obvious the way they act they have some severe psychological problems... you know the types, the ones that were picked on at school, no friends, revenge the world, all the attitude to boot.



Heres and example what happened to me, Not long ago an unmarked car swerved into a left side parking area infront of shops then swerved in front of my car to avoid a parked car over the rise, screetching tyres, nearly hit my car, had a witness with me aswell. He must have been following us for a while as he knew we had a digital camcorder, worst part of the story was we were in traffic and there wasnt anything cool to shoot so the video was off, he then told me off at the next set of lights for 'showing off' and stop trying to be big with your camera.

They were probably upset because they thought you were recording them and were worried about what you could do with the tape.. or rather, they figured you were recording them to try and intimidate them...



The cops are very cautious (and possibly intimidated, which puts the ball back in your court if they're intimidating you) if you have a camera rolling on them..



Obviously, the best way to catch them out is to use something that isn't obviously a motion video recorder... such as a good digicam.. problem is that most digicams can't record for very long.. (such as mine has a max of 30 seconds per video.. )
