4 and 5 are great, really good colour, contrast etc, good flash use or excellent use of available light, sharp too. |

Cam Cheers, I used a flash for 5, 6 and 7. Not ver bright though, I did a bounce of the wall behind me using the lowest setting it can do. They were still shot at ISO 2500, f.3.5, 1/30 so that the shadows wouldn't be too harsh and I wouldn't drown out the surroundings. |

What equipment do you need for it? Is it a swivel hotshoe flash head or something? O - and your link to your fisheye pics didn't show them. I had a bit of a look thru your thread, but wasn't anything there that I could find. Cheers, - Mick ![]() |

Not bad for 4 1/2 months work ![]() I only got the flash about 10 days ago, so not very long at all. It is a swivel hotshoe, Nikon SB-26, got it for $40 from a market (fkn bargain!!) It is TTL which is cool... If u use Film, useless for Digital though ![]() I just use it on manual mode so thats fine and sometimes use it as a slave. But i used to have an old manual flash which did not swivel I did bounce flash with, there are some examples here: http://image-cache.boostcruising.com/forum...34413934997.jpg , http://image-cache.boostcruising.com/forum...01294160561.jpg, http://image-cache.boostcruising.com/forum...67595725016.jpg, http://image-cache.boostcruising.com/forum...12025052972.jpg, http://image-cache.boostcruising.com/forum...97238436223.jpg. That was the first time I tried it. The 2nd was at my valedictory dinner and this last set was the 3rd... The Fisheye ones are about half way down page 14 of the thread, just have quick look at the few posts after that and U'll know what I mean. Harry |

I thought the 5D would be really good with noise. Yeh, mine costs about $1700 for the body, yours is $4500, bit of a difference! I was waiting for that lighting for about 40 mins. I took some earlier, but they were shit because the lights in the buildings were turned off. Trust me, that was as early as I could get away with. Thanks for the feedback Harry |

QUOTE(parko @ Nov 8 2006, 10:12 PM) Quick question, Harry... Just wondering what size SD card you're using? Apart from the mediocre 32MB SD card supplied, all I have at the moment is a Panasonic 2GB SD with a 5MB per/s write (if I can remember correctly). 262 exposures in FINE L and 161 expposures in RAW. Not much. Gonna be a problem overseas. I figure I'll stock up in Hong Kong or sort out an alternative to buying a shitload of cards. I just use a laptop when I get the chance. When I go to europe in 3 weeks I may consider taking a spare card. I use a Sandisk 2gb Ultra II with a 10mb/s speed which I am happy with, I also have a Sandisk 256, 128 and 32 for backups (Just ones I had lying around the house). I always just zoom into my shots using the LCD and delete any shit ones on the camera so I don't have to sift through lots of shitty photos in RAW and delete them because of all the lag. Also, there are not many times when I take that many shots. It is not unusual for me to go out for a whole night and only come home with 5-10 shots on my camera... I am a perfectionist. I get it right. If I make a mistake, I delete it and do it again. I only ever had a 1gb for my D50 The closest I have come to filling the card was when I did 110 shots at the veledictory dinner. I kept 94 of them. I spose it just depends how u shoot. But I probably should get another 1gb or 2gb card (perhaps not high-speed) as a backup while I'm there. Harry |

Harry You're going to Europe in 3 weeks... you're shittin' me? I leave December 14 for Thailand, China then the usual Norway and Sweden. That's why I had been so frantic about getting my camera. At one stage I tought I wouldn't get my D80 'til late Nov. That would've been horrible. After recieving my lenses today and having a play around all afternoon I did much of the same, just delete all the crap (which were nearly all from today... haha) but I may look into some external memory. |

No guides, no bus nothing. Just accomodation and flights which I booked. I have already run outta shit in perth... It sucks! I'll try and post up some good shit as I go. if not I'll just post it when I get back. I'll only put up the best ones, but i'll do it bit-by-bit over a couple of weeks. Harry |

Look 4ward to seeing what you produce. I got my D-SLR when I was in Europe on Contiki (bad taxi memory with the old film one). Just make sure you have insurance as well. Perths still has places, you just need to look harder or get re-motivated. Sometimes your best work comes when you think there's nothing left to take... - Mick ![]() |

Sorry, they just don't look like your normal quality ![]() Cam It is actually exactly what I was looking for. I purposley got the lens flare and I cranked up the temp heaps on RAW so that I could get that sepia sorta tinge in them. I wanted them to look vintage. That's also why I over-cropped that 1st one. So that I could cut the back of the VZ commo out of the frame... Not and ideal plce to be doing them... I will put up one that has not had the WB changed so u can see what I mean. I take it u don't particularly like this style. No probs. This is the kinda shit I want to know, so that I know what not to do next time. Harry |
