Who offers the best insurance for the above cars?

Lets just say I am a "mature" driver meaning 40+, with clean driving record last 5 years, I am the only driver of above vehicles, for private purposes, no mods

any ideas welcomed

try shannons in ur case, they are pretty cheap and designed for real car lovers rather than hoons.

hey mate insurance shouldnt be too high, im 20 and was qouted 2,400 for a 2000 wrx by just cars anyone will insure you im sure - had a thought can you just update your current policy?

I'm with Shannons. over 25 no claims and good record
Quoted for these vehicles.
Stock 01 WRX $1300
Mits RVR $550
Mits EVO4 $600, with mods and race ins.
SO i Bought the EVO4, full rego and approx 400hp of mods.

you guys are forgeting the cars he is after insurance quotes for are Australian delivered, try the cheap ons first mate, RACQ, AAMI, Suncorp

I thought $600 for an EVO from shannons was cheap...???? RACQ have been ok to me as far as premiums go - let me have quite a few mods than 2 on an excel i used to own smile.gif

For an 2001 stock WRX, RACQ was $1900 and Suncorp was $1750. I dont call that cheap. AAMI wanted even more than those 2 and all didnt really like the car to have mods or the premiums go up. I shopped around the only other one i can suggest is Elders Insurance they were $900. Elders and Sunsorp where the only 2 that allowed minimum mods without a premium hike.
But with Shannons allowing me to use and cover the EVO for motorsport at a far cheaper premium, have any mod as long as it is legal, how can i pass it up. So i highly recomend. And they are great to deal with. Remember Shannons is there for the enthusiast

The only issue i found with shannons is they wont insure anyone under the age of 21 or is it 20 .....i thinks its 20....anyways they would insure me cause im 19.....sux!!

hmmm, you dont sound 40+ with a clean driving record haha!

be careful insuring it in someone elses name(ie. mum/dad)
insurance companies with crucify you on this if they can when you want to make a claim.

yeah RACQ is really good as well, they are reliable and they do good jobs when u make a claim.

if its stock.. dont goto "enthusiast" style insurance companys unless its an "enthusiast" style car(GT40.. ferrari...cobra..SLR5000) or modified etc i rekon


my question is..
with excess being young and being a rating 6.. i have a rather high excess(in the range of $1500 from memory)..

my question is.. if i make a claim.. do i drop to a rating 7?? and CAN i pay off the excess amount PLUS my normal full comp payments??

no u dont drop any lower than 6 which is already a 0%.

dont know about the excess, but i think generally when u pick up ur car, u pay the excess to the workshop as part of their repairing fees. so u dont have the excess u cant pick up the car. if its a write off, the cheque they give u is the one with the excess deducted.

I work at RACQ, not in the Insurance section though, but i do know that They dont insure import cars for full comprehensive, only the 3rd party insurance, as i checked it out when i bought my supra.... there is what they call a "high performance Excess" which they add onto the 3rd party policy.... is the 200 your thinking of getting the import model?

you should give RACQ a call though, and see what they can do for you...... call 131905...were friendly facesjump.gif

both nissan 200sx and WRX are ausie delivered mate, otherwise it would be called JDM silvia S15.

i got my 200sx s15 insured with RACQ before so i know they do insure 200sx.

Go suncorp 13 11 55.. They will take that on no worries!!! And mods are even allowed!!! UNDER 25 good luck. they wont do it.. Suncorp also have full choice of repairer and agreed value as well!!!

i knew wrx was aussie delivered,wasnt sure bout the 200sx, dont really know much about them dunno.gif .. but yea, racq does insure both....

just go online for a quote.....
