Exclusivity and dynamism in a wholly new dimension: the new Mercedes-Benz S 65 AMG in a nutshell. The compelling top-of-the-line model of the brand new S-Class delivers 450 kW/612 hp and reaches peak torque of 1000 Nm – more than any other vehicle in this segment. The use of the new, innovative AMG high-performance composite brakes with twin sliding callipers at the front further illustrates the unique technological prowess of the powerful AMG Saloon. The standard specification of the new S 65 AMG includes a new AMG sports suspension based on Active Body Control, the unmistakable AMG bodystyling, multi-piece 19-inch AMG light-alloy wheels, DIRECT SELECT gearshift with AMG steering-wheel gearshift paddles as well as the new AMG main menu with RACETIMER. The powerful AMG Saloon stands self-confidently ahead of the competition, testimony to the outstanding role of Mercedes-AMG GmbH in developing extraordinary vehicles and powerful drive systems.

The new Mercedes-Benz S 65 AMG is celebrating its world premiere at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit on January 8, 2006. Its ultra-powerful AMG 6.0-litre V12 biturbo engine delivers performance that many sports car drivers can only dream about: it accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.4 seconds and 0 to 200 km/h in just 13.3 seconds (provisional figures). The top speed is 250 km/h (electronically limited).

Twelve-cylinder biturbo engine with know-how from motorsport

This exclusive performance is made possible by the 5980-cc V12 engine developed by Mercedes-AMG. The engine’s credentials are outstanding: maximum output of 450 kW/612 hp is maintained from 4750 to 5100 rpm, while the maximum torque of 1000 Nm can be called on from 2000 to 4000 rpm. Even as low as 1000 rpm, the AMG V12 biturbo engine already delivers 570 Nm of torque to the crankshaft, while 750 Nm is on tap at 1500 rpm.

When designing and building the V12 engine the AMG designers drew on the vast know-how amassed over many years of motorsport involvement. The AMG V12 engine has a precision-balanced crankshaft made out of high-strength materials, forged pistons made out of special material which is extremely resistant to temperature and pressure, a more effective oil-spray cooling system with a separate individual nozzle for each piston plus larger piston pins. The main and big-end bearings are also made out of improved materials to compensate for peak temperatures and pressures more effectively. The charge cycle in the cylinder heads benefits from optimised combustion chambers and longer opening times of the intake valves. A modified oil pump ensures that all lubrication points are supplied with oil - even in highly demanding conditions. An engine oil cooler is integrated into the AMG front apron, with an additional engine coolant radiator located in the wheel arch.

Highly efficient charge-air cooler

The charge-air cooler has also been redesigned with a low-temperature radiator in the front of the vehicle that is around 70 percent larger. The system works on the principle of the air/water heat exchanger for particularly effective cooling of the intake air (which has been compressed by the turbochargers) before it enters the combustion chambers. The increased surface area of the low-temperature radiator provides a 25 percent reduction in intake temperature and guarantees high power and torque output under all operating conditions and regardless of the outside temperature, even when the engine is operating at full load. The housings of the compressor and turbine in both turbochargers as well as the turbine and compressor wheels have been enlarged to cope with the maximum charge pressure of 1.5 bar.

The electronically controlled fuel supply with newly developed components operates with a variable system pressure between 3.6 and 5.0 bar. Depending on the power requirements and outside temperature, the fuel pressure is variably controlled almost instantly. The engine management system translates the command from the accelerator within milliseconds, delivering an extremely fast response from the engine in all load situations.
AMG sports exhaust system for typical AMG twelve-cylinder vocals

The AMG sports exhaust system with two twin chrome tailpipes in the new V12 design provides the telltale AMG twelve-cylinder vocals on the new S 65 AMG. The new tri-metallic coating used in the catalytic converters provides a faster response from a cold start, improved emission control as well as longer life. Naturally the S 65 AMG fulfils all standard exhaust emissions limits such as EU4. The ultra-powerful twelve-cylinder unit takes the specific requirements of the U.S. market such as LEV II, “On-Board Diagnosis II” and oxygen sensor diagnosis in its stride.

The special position of the AMG V12 engine was singled out at the “International Engine of the Year Awards 2004”: in the “Best Performance Engine” category the jury chose the 450-kW/612-hp AMG engine as the winner, beating off a field of 70 renowned competitors from Europe, the USA and Japan. In the AMG engine manufacturing facility, each engine is traditionally hand-built according to the “One man, one engine” philosophy. That means that each complete AMG V12 engine is assembled from start to finish by a single technician – documented with the technician’s signature on the AMG engine plate.

World first: newly developed AMG high-performance composite brakes

The completely newly developed AMG high-performance composite brakes based on the ADAPTIVE BRAKE system set new standards in terms of stopping distances, sensitivity and durability. A new twin sliding calliper is used for the front brakes, the kind of innovation people have come to expect from AMG. This new, unique technology combines the advantages of a floating-calliper brake – lower heat transfer to the brake fluid and significantly improved ride comfort due to the way the brake pads are located – with the performance of a large fixed-calliper brake. At the rear a large sliding frame-type calliper provides the braking. Composite brake discs at the front and rear with a diameter of 390 and 365 millimetres respectively ensure the shortest stopping distances, remarkable strength and outstanding sensitivity. The dual-circuit hydraulic braking system is controlled electronically and supports numerous driver assistance functions that improve safety and comfort. Multi-piece 19-inch AMG light-alloy wheels with mixed tyres provide the contact with the road. 255/40 ZR 19 tyres are fitted on 8.5-inch-wide wheels at the front, while 275/40 ZR 19 tyres combine with 9.5-inch-wide wheels at the rear.

AMG SPEEDSHIFT 5-speed automatic transmission with steering-wheel gearshift paddles

The drive power is transferred to the wheels in the new S 65 AMG via the AMG SPEEDSHIFT five-speed automatic transmission with AMG steering-wheel gearshift paddles and DIRECT SELECT gearshift. The conventional automatic selector lever in the centre console is replaced by a lever on the steering column, which the driver nudges to select the transmission settings “P”, “N”, “R” and “D”.

The driver can use the “S/C/M” mode button in the centre console to select from the “Sport”, “Comfort” and “Manual” shift programmes that not only change the transmission characteristics but also the accelerator response and the spring/damper settings of the AMG sports suspension based on Active Body Control. The gears can also be shifted at any time using the silver-coloured aluminium gearshift paddles on the AMG ergonomic sports steering wheel.

High torque requires a reinforced powertrain

The unrivalled 1000 Nm torque requires a systematically reinforced powertrain on the S 65 AMG. In the automatic transmission this includes newly developed clutch plates with a high-quality metallic coating and the modified shift and torque converter logic. Redesigned drive shafts, larger hub carriers as well as strengthened steel spring links supplement these measures.

AMG sports suspension based on Active Body Control

The AMG sports suspension with the Active Body Control system is the perfect complement to the sophisticated drive technology. The active suspension reduces almost all of the body movements that occur when moving off, negotiating bends and braking. Bends are negotiated with far less roll; the body roll with fast evasive manoeuvring is effectively suppressed. Compared with the previous model, the second-generation Active Body Control is even more effective, for instance in reducing body movements in any given driving situation. Thus the S 65 AMG opens up new dimensions in dynamic handling – while offering appreciably improved ride comfort.

Unmistakable AMG bodystyling creates a distinctive look

Hallmark Mercedes elegance coupled with distinctive sportiness – the first impression you get from the new S 65 AMG. The new AMG bodystyling is combined superbly with the pronounced flared wheel arches, providing a markedly poised and assured appearance. At the front the redesigned AMG front apron with enlarged air intakes adds an athletic touch. The two slanted struts and integrated round fog lamps set in chrome rings make the S-Class look even wider and lower. The side skirts take up the line of the AMG front apron and emphasise the dynamic feel of the side view; all reinforced through the “V12 biturbo” lettering on the front wings.

The new multi-piece 19-inch five-spoke AMG light-alloy wheels with a star on the centre of the wheel painted in titanium grey blend harmoniously into the overall lines and represent additional highlights. The powerful AMG bodystyling design of the rear apron and the AMG sports exhaust system comprising two combined twin tailpipes in the new V12 design provide the perfect finishing touches.

Exclusive interior appointments with multicontour seats and “RACETIMER”

The exclusive interior appointments fit in perfectly with the dynamic exterior: open the door and the S 65 AMG welcomes the driver with a large AMG logo in the AMG instrument cluster’s central display. The integrated custom AMG main menu constantly displays the gear currently selected as well as recommending when to shift up to the next gear. There is also a choice of engine oil temperature, the battery voltage or the “RACETIMER”. This new function enables the driver for the first time to calculate lap times in the AMG model – on a private racetrack, for instance. The RACETIMER stores the time of the fastest lap, the average and top speed as well as the lap distance; all the information can be called up conveniently using the thumb-operated buttons on the AMG ergonomic sports steering wheel. The AMG instrument cluster with its 360-km/h dial discreetly indicates the performance of the S 65 AMG.

The extensive burr walnut trim, the “Exclusive PASSION” leather upholstery and the AMG dynamic sports seats with their own distinctive design add that touch of distinctive flair. The AMG ergonomic sports steering wheel with its specially sculpted rim and the AMG aluminium gearshift paddles with “up” and “down” lettering is a joy to hold and behold. One of the most eye-catching features in the interior of the new S 65 AMG is the exclusive analogue clock with its “IWC Ingenieur” design in the centre console. High-quality AMG door sill panels provide the finishing touch for the interior.

The reputable German BMW tuners, Hamann Motorsport, have taken the BMW’s idea and developed it consistently to produce the Hamann 645Ci HM 5.2 6 Coupe. The outcome: a sporty model, great design, and pure driving comfort.

Hamann has constructed a fully-fledged aerodynamics package for the new BMW 6 Coupe, which clearly enhances the dynamic silhouette of the serial model. The distinctive front spoiler not only gives it an unmistakable look, it literally sucks the Hamann 645Ci HM 5.2 down onto the road. Wide side sillboards highlight the sporting look of the 6 Coupe and hint at the performance of the Hamann model. The powerful rear view, in particular, with the newly designed rear apron trim including diffuser and a perfectly integrated, specially developed exhaust system, set new standards. The rear and roof spoilers are not merely visual highlights, they also serve to ensure sufficient output on the rear axle of the Hamann 645Ci HM 5.2.

Concealed under the Hamann aerodynamic components is a pedigree sports car. The 412 bhp of the Hamann 645Ci HM 5.2 provides high output at 6,100 revs per minute and a maximum speed torque of 406 lb-ft at 3,900 revs per minute. At an impressive 180 mph, top speed is significantly higher than the 155 mph of the standard version. This great performance is achieved by means of specially constructed motor parts such as sport pistons, cylinder gasket, crankshaft and sport air filters and by changing the map of the serial Motronics. A conspicuous detail in the engine compartment is the oil-fill cap with the Hamann logo.

In addition to this, the specially developed four-pipe sport exhaust system with 2 x 2 sport silencers and 3 inch diameter exhaust pipe ends contribute to the performance of the Hamann 6. It also provides an optical highlight and gives the Laupheim model a deep, throaty sound.

In keeping with the extremely sporting concept of the Hamann 645Ci HM 5.2, the brakes and chassis have been adapted to its performance. On the front axle the Hamann sports braking system with 365 mm slotted and self-ventilated brake discs decelerates with top precision. In terms of appearance, the eight-piston fixed caliper in red make for a genuine motor sport feeling and they really do a powerful job. And the sports brake pads, steel braided brake lines, and adapters ensure the necessary braking power.

With regard to the chassis, Hamann supplies two versions for the 645Ci HM 5.2. With the aid of the Hamann lowering kit, the car body can be moved 1.56 inches closer to the asphalt at the front and 0.78 inches at the rear. The four progressive springs make the vehicle significantly more accurate and sporty to handle. The second version consists of a height adjustable coil over sport suspension. The specific coordination of the sport shock absorbers and progressive springs make driving pure pleasure. With these the Hamann 645Ci HM 5.2 changes direction and takes narrow bends as if it were on rails. Customized lowering to a maximum of 2.34 inches on the front axle and 1.17 inches on the rear axle can be carried out to meet individual wishes.

The outer appearance of the Hamann 645Ci HM 5.2 is rounded off by a variety of exclusive, one-section and modular Hamann-light alloy wheels ranging in size from 18 to 20 inches. The most impressive solution is undoubtedly the 20-inch version with the DESIGN PG3 light alloy wheels. The modular wheel in the classic five-spoke design completes the powerful, sporting appearance. The silver-coloured, Outside Well polished wheels with the 10 J x 20 dimension at the front and 10.5 J x 20 at the rear carry 245/35 ZR 20 VA and 275/30 ZR 20 HA tires.

Despite the innovative design and powerful performance, the Hamann 645Ci HM 5.2 nevertheless offers sporting luxury on the inside. Aluminium pedals and the footrest also made of aluminium add a touch of luxury to the sporting character. Foot mats designed by Hamann are a must.

This lightweight carbon R34 GTR was the hottest car of 2004. A custom machine that was initially going to be a street car but turned out to be a full on race car. Weighing around 1100Kg (NOTE - R34 V-Spec wieght 1560 kg) and with over 600PS powering the rear wheels (yes, just the rear ones!) this is a impressive machine. More development has been carried out on this car so expect to see more of it in the future

Notice how the whole section ahead of the upper mounts has been cut away, re-fabricated in carbon and elongated to provide better cooling and aerodynamics. Hard to miss the titanium I/C piping which has been kept short for best throttle response.

●Veilside Ferrari 575 Maranello

Big V12 up front and rear wheel drive. This has always been the recipe of a true Ferrari. Sure the mid-engined V8 series of cars have proven to be impeccable performers but there is something special about a big Ferrari GT. When the 550 Maranello was unveiled I truly suffered. It was such a special looking car I would have done anything to own one. Living close to one of the UK's biggest Ferrari dealers didn't really help as not one day went by that I did not see the 550 in all its glory out on test drives or sitting in the showroom. It was hell, in a good way. But fast forward a few years and I now find myself in front of Veilside's version of the updated original car, the 575 Maranello.

As with the Bentley Continental GT this Ferrari is part of the new Premium Collection the company recently launched. Mr. Yokomaku, the founder and president of Veilside, got to work on the 575's exterior by creating a subtle kit that would add some Veilside style to the Italian exotic. Using carbon fiber he molded a deeper front splitter into the original front bumper and integrated canards on the sides to generate some front downforce. This, in theory, should help high speed cornering while the rear Venturi diffuser generates more downforce. Some side under spoilers finish off the kit which looks pretty menacing on this black demo car. 19-inch Andrew Premier Series chrome wheels are used for an in your face pimp look, and wear Pirelli P-Zero Rosso tyres...massive 355/25 for the rears!

The titanium exhaust, which costs ¥1.5 million(!), does wonders for the Maranello's V12, which in Ferrari terms does not sound at all special. The aggressive down-changes made by the F1 gearbox are followed by lots of crackling and backfiring which sounds pretty nice out on the road.
The interior has been upholstered in red ostrich leather which doesn't look as horrendous as it sounds, but why anyone would replace the soft Italian leather of the standard car is beyond me. A Pioneer head-unit with flip-out LCD screen takes care of the audio/video install which also includes and HD navigation module.

The collaboration between Shelby and Ford's Special Vehicle Team (SVT) is yielding an instant collector's Ford Shelby GT500 that builds 475 horsepower in its 5.4-liter supercharged V-8.

True to the original GT500, it will be available both as a coupe and as a convertible when it goes on sale in the summer of 2006.

"It's one thing to put 450 horsepower in an exotic supercar," says Shelby. "It's another to put that much power in something as affordable as a Mustang. The fact that they not only met their goal but pushed on to 475 horsepower is a remarkable achievement."

Power Play

As expected of anything with Shelby's name on it, the heart of the car is what's under the hood. The Ford Shelby GT500's supercharged 5.4-liter, 32-valve V-8 evolves from Ford's experience with tuning its modular, or MOD, engines. Output is a brawny 475 horsepower.

The engine is force-fed an air-and-fuel mixture via a "Roots-type" supercharger providing 8.5 pounds per square inch of boost. The Ford Shelby GT500 uses a cast-iron engine block. It borrows from the Ford GT program aluminum, four-valve cylinder heads, piston rings and bearings, adding a high level of performance durability to the drivetrain. "Powered by SVT" camshaft covers add the finishing touch to the engine.

Helping put the power to the pavement is a 6-speed manual gearbox. For the performance driver, its evenly spaced gears mean less "stirring" is needed to find the "sweet spot." This gives a rewarding experience throughout the engine's broad torque curve. The heavy-duty transmission has proven itself a willing companion to Mustangs in both road and track environments, including recent road-going Mustang Cobras and the new race-winning Mustang FR500C.

Power Requires Control

The Ford Shelby GT500 continues a legacy of all-around performance that made the original a world-class racer on tracks and road courses around the world.

The Ford Shelby GT500 starts with the solid Mustang underpinnings. The all-new Mustang was designed from the beginning with performance derivatives in mind, providing an exceptionally rigid, well-engineered starting point for GT500 chassis engineers.

SVT engineers retuned and upgraded key chassis components. Improvements such as revised shocks, spring rates and upgraded stabilizer bars help the Ford Shelby GT500 stop and turn with the same authority as it goes.

The Snake is Back

One glance shows this is not the typical Mustang Cobra. A sinister-looking front-end design includes wide upper and lower fascia openings with a functional air splitter. The upper intake sports the famous Cobra logo floating off-center in place of a centered galloping pony found on other Mustangs. On either side, slanting headlamp openings add to the dramatic front appearance.

The "GT500" script emblazoned on the gas cap emblem is joined by an updated version of Shelby's classic Cobra logo that is repeated on the grille and the headrest.

The bulging hood has heat extractors protruding near the leading edge, combining to provide improved airflow and aerodynamics. As air passes over the hood, hot air from the engine compartment is drawn out through ducts attached to the hood extractors.

Cockpit Upgrades

Inside, too, upgraded levels of flair and function abound. The locations of the speedometer and the tachometer are swapped to provide performance-oriented drivers with a better view of shift points while changing gears. Front seats have received additional lateral support to help keep the driver optimally positioned during cornering. The interior is offered in a choice of two colors, Charcoal Black or Charcoal Black and Crimson Red. The charcoal/red offering features Crimson Red seating surfaces and door panel inserts. Seating surfaces are leather with both interior treatments. Snake logos embossed in the seat backs finish the package.

The Ford Shelby GT500 will be built at the Ford-Mazda joint venture, AutoAlliance International, in Flat Rock, Michigan.

●Veilside Bentley Continental GT

Nothing could be further from my ideal car than a Bentley Continental GT. Its big, its pimp and its heavier than a full-sized SUV! Then why do I like this thing so much?? Hoping to answer this question I made my way to Veilside in February to take a closer look at their very own GT. In a bold move the famed Japanese tuner has taken a leap of faith and began catering for high-end luxury and exotic cars. The "Premier Collection" http://www.veilside.com/premier is proof that the company is maturing and although it will continue to offer its usual over the top body-kits, its nice to see a well established company taking a new direction. The owner and founder of Veilside, Hiranao Yokomaku, who styles all the kits by hand has toned down his usual design cues and settled for a more refined look. The kit on the GT features very subtle front and rear integrated lips and chunkier side skirts all made in carbon fiber.

I loved the way the kit adds a touch more aggressiveness to the bulbous GT and doesn't interfere with the original design of the car.

Massive 22" three-spoke wheels finish the car off while giving the much needed gangster look! Surprisingly enough these huge wheels don't effect ride quality at all as the active suspension take the edge out of the lower profiled rubber.

Thanks to the full titanium exhaust the concoction of offset frequencies that sprout from the crystal tail pipes (I'm not commenting on these!) is simply awesome. Think a mix of V8 and V12 soundtracks mixed together churning out a distinctive low edged rumble. Awesome.

Once behind the wheel I'm astounded at how the mighty W12 twin turbo propels this 2.5 ton beast so effortlessly.

I have never experienced such mechanical refinement and have to say I quite enjoyed it...for a few minutes. Then I began to notice little things that, for me at least, have always been at the core of automotive enjoyment.

Steering feel, brake feel, how the car communicates with the driver...everything felt num in the GT, over-servoed everything! Might be great for your comfortable drive to the golf club but disappointing for people looking for some driver involvement. I was expecting something along these lines, but even so I have to say I still love the GT for its emotional lines and superb interior. Its one of those cars you can't help but like, but would never buy.

Wineck Cobra 780Ci Limited Edition

Limited to 15 cars worldwide, the "Weineck Cobra 780 cui Limited Edition" is a completely legal roadcar. The project was born at the German company "Weineck Engineering", and is immediatley recognisable by the enormous airscoop on the bonnet. It's necessary to pump enough air into the huge 12.9 litre (!), or 780 cubic inch engine. Press the gaspedal to prepare for launch, and more than half a litre of gasoline flows through the carburator.

The engine reaches 1100 bhp @ 7000rpm, and a torque of 1760 Nm @ 5600rpm. The figures are amazing: a specific power of 0.9 kg/ bhp, 0-200 km/h (124 mph) in only 4.9 seconds, and onto 300 km/h (186 mph) in exactly 10 seconds.
All this power is transferred to the rear axle using a manual 4-speed transmission.
The car stands on 18" 255mm/40mm tires in the front, and 18" 315mm/35mm tires in the back.

Weineck 780Ci
0-200 km/h in 4.9 sec
0-300 km/h in 10 seconds
1200Hp, 1760Nm, 1080kg.

You've probably played with it on Gran Turismo 4, but this is no GC car, this is the real deal, the Power House Amuse S2000 GT1. Well actually the car you see here is not the demo car they are building, that wont be ready before the end of the year, but a customer car.

Spend a few minutes in the company of Mr. Tanabe and you quickly understand how things are done at Amuse. Carbon and Titanium are the materials of choice for this company which has built a reputation for creating the highest quality exhaust systems. But more about that later. The S2000 GT1's carbon kit is simply awesome out on the road. It has so much road presence it can't be put into words. It would certainly be hard to better these looks!

The pearl white of this car was perfect to show off the lines Tanabe-san shaped himself. As with every Amuse car the wheels of choice could have only been Volk Racing CE28N, a superb choice if I do say so myslef;-)

But for how pretty this S2000 GT1 is everyone is waiting for the proper demo car to be finished. We hope to see this car at the Tsukuba Super Lap Battle at the end of the year! As you can see the F20 engine is all finished up, features JUN internals (stock 87mm pistons, JUN rods & crank) for a capacity of 2259 cc while the compression ratio has been decreased to 8.8:1 to accommodate the rather mean looking HKS GT3240 turbo you see sprouting out of one side (note the custom manifold)!

To cope with all the power (some 550PS) the S2000 running gear had to be binned and replaced with BNR34 GTR rear member + diff case & drive shafts. Couple this to an HKS sequential and a serious weight reduction and you have a devastatingly fast track car. Can't wait to see this at Tsukuba....

[quoted from this site. http://blog.gtroc.com/dino/2005/05/ ] <- has lots more cool stuff.

All i see are modern day vehicles, what about going back to the root's. Some of the worlds most expensive collectable cars are amongst the best performers as well. By todays standards, we have taken a huge leap backwards, seems like things are getting quicker everyday yet they are staying just the same.

A “snake” with an all-new skin—and ultimate display of the production merits of ASC’s patent-pending OmniCarbon™ process--the Diamondback Viper is super-light and super-fast. It’s fitting that ASC, which helped the Chrysler Group bring the new Dodge Viper SRT10 coupe to life, would, with the aid of McLaren Performance Technologies, show how the Viper coupe might be taken to an all-new level of “extreme.” The 615hp Diamondback Viper features a carbon
fiber roof, deck lid, rockers, fascia inserts, body trim and a massive OmniCarbon™ hood that shows off ten unique trumpeted air intakes, with individual port throttles, peeking through—a McLaren Performance Technologies feature reminiscent of McLaren Can-Am engines of the past. The hood also shows off ASC’s expertise in compression-molded carbon fiber, both painted and woven. It’s displayed beautifully, with a broad, clearcoated racing stripe down the Artic White-painted expanse, subtly outlined by “Viper Blue” and “McLaren Red” pinstripes. In all, ASC removed about 85 lbs. of weight from the vehicle—including cutting the weight of the hood by nearly half versus the production model. Taken together with the powertrain modifications by McLaren Performance Technologies, the power-to-weight ratio was increased, resulting in an estimated increase in 0-60 mph time of 3.5 seconds. And, importantly, ASC’s OmniCarbon™ isn’t just light and nice to look at: ASC has reduced cycle times in the process by 80 percent versus conventional molding methods, and is confident its process meets OEM production specifications.

Abt Sportsline’s presentation of the tuned version of the Audi Q7 coincides with the sales launch of the multifunctional sports car from Ingolstadt

Combined experience: For 25 years Audi has been manufacturing all-wheel driven cars and the successful Kempten-based company Abt Sportsline has been upgrading vehicles for just as long. In the Abt Q7 the know-how of both companies is combined in a car that meets highest demands.

It is more than a mere successor of the legendary Quattro: The Audi Q7 is the perfect car for every opportunity, as it not only is suitable for all terrains, but a convincingly comfortable car for travelling long journeys at the same time. Since the Q7 innately is a true all-rounder, it proves to be a perfect tuning model. Once again Audi supplies the perfect basis for Abt Sportsline’s experts. The vehicle was optically and technically upgraded without changing its characteristic features.

At first glance the Abt Q7 looks brawnier than its original counterpart which is mainly due to the fender extensions lending the vehicle a more powerful appearance. You can tell that it easily masters difficult terrains. The rear wing completes its harmonious look and ensures that the Abt Q7 never loses wheel grip. By means of a two-coloured contrasting paint in white aluminium on the marked front skirt, the elegant rear skirt and side skirts, the Abt SUV reveals itself as an exclusive cruiser. The vehicle sides are eye-catching as a result of the lateral white aluminium insets which give the Abt Q7 unmistakeable features and dignified and agile looks at the same time. The sporting impression is highlighted by the double twin-pipe exhaust system with a pipe diameter of 84 millimetres and the one-piece wheels. Abt Sportsline’s wheels type AR with diamond-machined surface and exclusive exchange system are already available in the sizes 20 or 22 inch with tyres 275/45 R20 or 295/30 R22 Conti CrossContact. Another wheel option is the 22-inch SP-wheel.

Abt Sportsline’s modifications meet all the Q7’s demands, no matter whether off-road, on motor ways or in front of a luxury hotel – the Abt Q7 is the perfect car for every opportunity. Looks and technology form a unified whole; the Abt Q7 does not only look husky, it really is. Abt Sportsline’s engineers succeeded in clearly enhancing the innately powerful 3.0 TDI power unit. The modified six cylinders V-engine now provides 272 HP instead of the standard 233 and an explosive torque of 580 Nm (standard: 500 Nm).

Audi has been manufacturing vehicles with permanent all-wheel drive for a quarter of a century and the Abt Q7 crowns this development. You may look forward to this one-of-a-kind SUV.

OMFGWTFBBQ !!!

I can't believe none of you have put this car up.. It's like.. the ultimate Japanese street car.. (Built in UK dunno.gif )

All the cars on here - the 0-100kph times are nothing compared to this..
Mitsubishi Evo VI.. 0-100kph (62mph) in 2.7 seconds... I believe the fastest in the thread!!

*ROAD LEGAL* <-- WTFMOITE? The exhaust exits from the front bumper ffs!

Say hello to the RC Developments Evo VI biggrin.gif I'd spend 220k on one of these no doubt!

I think this speaks for itself.. But there is only one car I'd have over this..

FORD ESCORT RS200 EVO2

The above car does 0-100kph in 2.3 seconds.... on street tires..

Give it slicks... 1.8 seconds..

And best of all.. It's powered by a 4 cylinder, 2.175ltr turbo.. TWIN Bilstein suspension at each corner.. 8 coilovers.. WTF!

I guarantee you all the figures and information here is pure fact. All tested and logged. No typos!

I think these 2 cars have to be the gods of modification.. Too bad no pics of the RS200 sad.gif

i call BS on that figure....cause that means its quicker than the bugatti veyron, which currently holds and STILL holds the quickest 0-100kph time, but i wanna see proof before i believe.

Nissan unveils the NISMO 350Z sports coupe, fitted with racing and styling parts designed by Nissan’s famed motorsport arm. Since its launch in 2002, the Nissan 350Z sports coupe has proved to be a formidable performance car, but with the addition of some serious NISMO S-tune accessories, it is transformed into a real head-turner.

A Wolf in Wolf’s Clothing

To ensure there is no mistaking the intent of this car, the NISMO 350Z receives a full Aero Kit and five-spoke 19-inch lightweight alloy wheels shod with extra wide, road-gripping Bridgestone Potenza S-03 tires.

NISMO designed and developed the Aero Kit in conjunction with Polyphony Digital, producer of ‘GRAN TURISMO’. Not only does it look the part, the Aero Kit increases the forces on the front and rear of the car to provide more grip at the front and added traction at the rear.

The standard front bumper is replaced by a deeper model with a low-lip spoiler color-coded to the vehicle. An additional louver in the bumper grille gives the NISMO 350Z an even wider and meaner look, while side skirts rectify irregular air stream around the tires at high speeds. Their function is linked to the rear under-skirt, and along with the front lip spoiler, give the impression that the 350Z is literally glued to the road. But all of this wouldn’t be complete without the high mounted rear spoiler that sits on top of the tailgate below the rear window.

Enhanced Engineering

To enhance drivability and on-road dynamics, the NISMO 350Z has gained NISMO’s S-tune suspension with front and rear stabilizer kit, front and rear shock absorbers and springs.

The NISMO Weldina sports exhaust system fitted to the vehicle gives it a spine tingling note from the 4.2 inches wide, twin oval tailpipes.

To further improve handling and driveability, the NISMO 350Z also receives a high performance clutch and limited-slip differential.

Five spoke lightweight alloy wheels, 19" x 8.5J at the front and 19" x 9.5J at the rear are matched with 245/35 ZR19 and 275/35 ZR19 Bridgestone Potenza S-03 tires.

Inside, the NISMO theme continues, with signature kick plates, floormats, gauges and a titanium gear knob adding to the Z’s cabin appeal. A pair of NISMO sports seats, even more hip-hugging than the originals, ensure the driver and passenger are well catered for.

Nissan Australia’s managing director and chief executive officer, Shinya Hannya, unveiled the vehicle at the Melbourne International Motor Show.

“The NISMO 350Z is a serious performance vehicle anyway you look at it, with the ability to deliver great driving dynamics and drop dead good looks,” Mr. Hannya said. All parts and accessories used to develop the NISMO 350Z are available through the national Nissan dealer network.

As there has been a bit of interest on this car I thought I might do some research on it.

Also there was comment that the aero kit was a bit much ... but I think if you look at the modifcations you'll probably understand why the are there wink.gif

The bugatti is the fastest "Production" car on record.

The old TVR Speed 12 could do 0-100 in 2.9seconds (held the record for a short time)

So there very well might be quicker cars to 100 then the bugatti, but ofcause these arn't production cars.
