i really DONT think you're going to acheive 250-300kw with a budget of $600 for a turbo

s5 turbos are aparently good cheap upgrades, supporting prob a bit more than the rb25 turbo. So ive herd, dont quote me smile.gif

600 for a turbo..
save up around 2-3000 and then try upgrading..
but to make sum extra money.. why not sell the stock turbo to some guy with a ca18.. or sr20.. as it would be an upgrade to that slightly i think :S dont know so dont flame me just a suggestion

HKS T04e turbo kits to suit RB20 – ( Cast iron HKS low mount manifold, HKS To4e turbo and HKS external wastegate ) Will easily make 300-350 rwhp with the right upgrades

thats is a good question on weather t28's are oil or water cooled, I want a pair for my zed, and the t 25s on it are both oil and water cooled, can I get bb T28's that are also both?

I belive Tuned do an upgrade for the RB20DET/RB25DET using a Garret 500hp hub into your exhaust and compressor scrolls this is rated at 450hp.
saw them do a R32 with this upgrade looked like factory but put out about 220kw ATW with similar mods done to your car (please dont quote me on the power).

Give them a call, you can only ask...

Adam.

FYI a s5 rx7 turbo on an rb20 is a lag monster and I wasn't very impressed with the power output either.

3071 or 2540

to achive taht sort of power you are going to need an ecu injectors and fuel pump,

having said that, for $600 you could probably buy a shagged out gt28

gt28's are oil and water cooled,

re-read his original post. Also a T28 wont fit as the RB series have a T3 flange rolleyes.gif

recommand hks 25/40 or s15 t28bb

for 600 youll get no where, cos apart from the rb25 turbo all these other ones arent going to fit your t3 flange for starters, a hks 2540R will with teh .86 exhaust housing they have a t3 flange, but most these other mentioned turbos have a t25 flange, have no idea on a s5 turbo flange, and most are out of the price range anyway. so keep saving buddy

I scored a pretty much brand new Stagea Turbo... for about $300...
it made a big difference... from 186HP to 244HP....
But that was also with a fmic installed...

If we are talking about 250 kw at the engine (There was no mention of at the wheels) I think a RB25 turbo should get you there....for the money you have it is really your only option you can get one for $300 and it bolts straigt up leaving you with $300 to go towards the retune of the haltec smile.gif

Skylines Australia has heaps of these turbos for sale all the time in the classifieds section

RB25 turbo will make around 170-180kw atw.
VG30 turbo will make around 190-200kw atw.

250kw atw, your definately looking for a decent turbo. Have a look on Skyline Australia as there is a thread about powerful RB20's and what mods have been done. thumbsup.gif

there are loads of turbos on ebay that would go straight on, if you want a quick fix then dont get nothing to big then you wont need to change the manifold and down pipe, there are loads of 25-30's and greddy turbos. smile.gif
