this is what does it for me drool.gif

Such is the case with Bill Chen’s seductive Nissan 350Z. The car’s wicked stance is enhanced with a VeilSide Combat Version 3 widebody kit. The VeilSide parts include an aggressive front bumper, widebody fender flares, rocker skirts, a rear bumper, a trick hood and carbon fiber wing. Heck, the only surfaces left untouched are the roof and the trunk. The installation of the kit and application of the car’s gleaming red paint was handled by 20/20 Autobody.

The widebody look has trickled down from racing where wider bodies mean wider tires and more mechanical grip. To this end Chen’s Z boasts gargantuan 20x9.5s up front and mind-blowing 20x13s out back. The weapon of choice: Work Meister S1s, each wrapped in sticky, low-profile Continental rubber. The remainder of the car’s footwork consists of Tein Flex coil-overs with EDFC, which allows cockpit adjustment of dampening on the fly and a Brembo front brake upgrade flexing 14.3-inch lightweight rotors and big-bore calipers.

With meaty 13-inch wide wheels and a correspondingly massive contact patch Chen’s next goal was to make ’em chirp in third gear. Answering the call is a GReddy twin-turbo kit. Chen started with the basic kit and intercooler upgrade but elected to mix it up with twin TiAL wastegates, an HKS SSQV blow-off valve, twin Helix straight pipes and an HKS F-CON V Pro for tuning.

On the fueling side of the equation we find a pair of Walbro 255 lph pumps feeding six RC Engineering 440cc injections via an HKS rail. The installation of the hard parts and the tuning of the F-CON V Pro was performed by SP Engineering.

On the dyno the boosted VQ35DE pumped out 425 whp and 384 lb-ft of torque at a conservative 16 psi. It seems that 425 is a healthy number; good power and acceptable stress levels on the V6’s stock internals.

The Combat-kitted Nissan is a leisure car taken out on fair-weather weekends and for special occasions. Imagine leashing up a T-Rex and taking it for a walk in the local dog park and you get an idea of what weekend drives in the country must be like for Chen. Yep, with its dominating widebody-enhanced stance, 20-inch meats and turbo induction even the pit bulls cower, whimper and scurry away.

nothing special but i love it rolleyes.gif

Movie by Option 2

But what really sets this Scoot RX-7 apart form anything else on the road is it's custom built 4-rotor NA engine. Pushing out 400PS at 8,000rpm this little rotary can easily rev to 10,000rpm and has the most incredibly sharp throttle response, ever! It breathes through 4 separate throttle bodies and a custom carbon air box while a special exhaust system has been developed to quieten it down to acceptable levels. Out on the road this car sounds more like a high revving sports bike than a car and certainly gets a few looks.

Some say this is the worlds fastest car............

On December 12, 2004, 9ff once again broke the top speed World Record, this time for all street legal vehicles with a speed of 388km or 241.1mph. This tops our own previous world record for all street legal Porsches set in June, 2004 at the Nardo, Italy test track with a speed of 231mph.

This was done with our new 9F V-400 supercar, which produces close to 840hp.

But we all know that the Bugatti is now...........

While this is a technical marvel in it's own right, cars such as the Veyron have been well documented and can easily be looked up in Supercar websites.

What I'm more interested in / and set up this thread for is finding 'modified' cars ; cars which have not had the luxury of factory facilities to modify them.

Any car which has had an independent group/or person improve on the factory package is what I am after in this thread. The car also need not be a 1000 hp monster; it doesnt hurt thou smile.gif but something which has had all aspects modified.

Hence 'The God's of Modification' title ... and not 'Bullshit fast Supercars' smile.gif

With the new GEMBALLA GTR 650 Avalanche, based on the Porsche 997 Carrera, the Leonberg, Germany Porsche conversion specialist GEMBALLA has created THE absolute dream car for the 2006 sports car year, optionally on 19” or 20” wheels. This ultimate German sports car will be available to a selected clientele starting next year. With this refined, ultra-sporty and equally reliable automobile, GEMBALLA is continuing in its very own great tradition of sports car construction. The GEMBALLA Avalanche, Mirage and Cyrrus models from the 80’s didn’t earn their legendary reputation for no reason.

The performance of the 2006 dream car is already the first attention-getter. The GEMBALLA GTR 650 Avalanche’s motor boasts a breathtaking 650 hp. Part of the motor’s conversion by the GEMBALLA engineers included eliciting an impressive 820 Nm torque, guaranteed to bring a satisfied smile to the driver’s lips already at 4800 RPM. In comparison, the standard Porsche 997 model features maximum 400 Nm torque at 4600 RPM. The difference puts the GTR 650 Avalanche’s sprinting qualities in a class all their own. The GTR 650 Avalanche reaches the 200 km/h mark in only 11.2 seconds, and its top speed leaves doubters in the dust: The irrepressible GTR 650 Avalanche engine delivers a maximum tempo of up to 335 km/h.

But peak performance wasn’t the only item at the top of the GEMBALLA engineers’ spec sheet. The Porsche conversion specialists placed just as much emphasis on the safety and durability of the Avalanche. Titanium piston rods, an intake system specially developed by GEMBALLA, three intercoolers and a special turbo configuration ensure GEMBALLA pleasure for a long time to come. And its lucky owner only has to share this pleasure with one passenger, because for safety reasons, from 650 hp the GTR 650 Avalanche is only available as a two-seater.

Massive eight-piston brake calipers and accordingly sized 380 millimeter diameter perforated disk brakes make sure the Avalanche also slows to a safe stop. The GTR 650 Avalanche sits on 19” wheels with tires sizes of 235 (front) and 315 (rear). The new 20” racing wheels are also optionally available, with tire sizes of 245 (front) and 325 (rear). For the particularly ambitious driver who would like to push the GTR 650 Avalanche’s envelope, for example on the ‘Nordschleife’, GEMBALLA also offers an optional roll bar.

The new Avalanche’s body and interior are equally as exclusive and unique as its driving performance and safety components. All of its add-on components are made of carbon. Fenders and sidewalls are all metal. And the future owner of the GTR 650 Avalanche can also look forward to GEMBALLA sport seats, a GEMBALLA sport steering wheel and aluminum pedals. Starting at 240,000 Euros, the new GEMBALLA dream car becomes tangible sports car euphoria.

TUNE IT! SAFE! (www.tune-it-safe.de) is the name of a new initiative started by the Bundesverkehrsministerium (German Federal Traffic Ministry), VDAT (Association of German Automobile Tuners) and the ESSEN-MOTOR-SHOW.

TechArt Automobildesign ( www.techart.de ) supports the new campaign aimed at increasing awareness for safe and legal tuning with the world's fastest police car. The Porsche 911 Carrera S has been completely modified by TechArt and reaches a top speed of some 300 km/h thanks to 370-hp / 272-kW performance tuning.

In addition to sporting the official green police markings and the light bar on the roof the world's fastest police car is also a prime example for professional automobile tuning. TechArt increases power output of the 3.8-liter flat six with the TA 097/S1 performance kit by 15 hp / 11 kW. Thus equipped the silver and green coupe accelerates from rest to 100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds and breaches the 300-km/h barrier.

To achieve even better directional stability and therefore active safety the Carrera S was fitted with a TechArt aerodynamic-enhancement kit that was tested extensively in the wind tunnel. It is joined by TechArt Formula 20-inch five-spoke wheels with 235/30 ZR 20 and 305/25 ZR 20 tires, and by the custom-calibrated TechArt Vario sport suspension with struts that are adjustable in height, bound and rebound.

In the interior an ergonomically shaped TechArt sport steering wheel with airbag ensures a safe handle on the performance.

*This is a copy and paste from mirageforums.net, and i thought this was pretty good for a lancer*

THIS IS A COPY PASTE FROM HONDA-TECH

This car belongs to a good friend of mine...and its probably the sickest daily driven street legal car I've ever seen. It has run 10.40's@133 (35psi) on street tires (the ones in these pictures) with 93 octane/methanol. It currently has around 550whp, tilton carbon clutch, gt35r tuned by brad brooks with aem. As you can see by the pictures, the car doesn't have a cage which means its impossible to run more than two passes with the car before Jerry (the owner) is asked to leave the track. At this time he is currently not allowed back at Bradenton Speedway until he has a 10 second approved cage.

The car is lower in the front because of two things. One, the springs in the front have sagged a little below where the car once sat. Second, the car squats so dramatically (it weighs 2500lbs) that the exhaust drags on the ground for the first 50ft upon launching.

The motor is a built 2.4L (7.7:1 compression)stroker setup, crower cams, cyclone intake, custom alky control based methanol injection setup which allows for 32-34psi with 93 octane, Jerry Built transmission, Tilton carbon/carbon clutch (costs about 3,000 dollars), quaife front diff, 4 spider center differential, stock 4bolt rear diff, custom fmic, and a plethora of custom parts which would take too long to describe. Jerry fabricated a 4bolt rear end into the car which makes it all wheel drive (for those unfamiliar with dsm's) and is one of the only mirage's i've ever seen with this conversion.

I have driven this car (i'm one of the few who have been lucky enough) and it absolutely flies. The difference between most 10 second cars and this 10 second car is that it runs 10's on the street and it's setup is unchanged at the track. Meaning, the tires are the same, the tire pressure is the same, the boost/fuel/alky setup is the same along with everything else remaining unchanged when taken to the track. All 4 tires break loose under 80mph as soon as full boost is reached which is nearly instantaneous with the current setup. The cyclone intake manifold is restrictive up top (probably preventing 600whp) but spools the gt35r almost immediately.

Overall, the car is absolutely insane and i consider myself fortunate to have ridden in and driven the car.

I'll let the pictures do the talking.

The CLS 55 AMG is a treat to drive thanks to its balanced handling characteristics and excellent performance. Nevertheless, Carlsson Autotechnik GmbH from Merzig in Southwest Germany has decided to risk its own interpretation of this thoroughbred automobile, which is primarily aimed at the ambitious, discerning driver who wants more. And doing so has paid off because the Carlsson CK55 leaves no automotive wish unfulfilled.

The Carlsson CK55: when the performance matches the appearance

Even at first glance, the Carlsson CK55 holds out the promise of pure luxury coupled with great muscle. And it lives up to expectations by combining outstanding power delivery with the greatest possible comfort, impressive acceleration times and extremely agile handling. The CK 55 performance kit with 560 bhp / 412 kW at 6000 rpm lends the car Carlsson-typical characteristics. The saloon car covers the standing start to 100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds with acceleration only being stopped by the electronic limiter at a top speed of 320 km/h. The torque produced by this power plant is a mighty 810 Nm at 2600 rpm. To put it simply: the CK 55 offers complete and unadulterated driving pleasure.

An expressive appearance with a full sound

Less is sometimes more. On the basis of proven Carlsson styling elements, a few but effective modifications to the aerodynamics of the CK 55 are sufficient to lend the car an even more dynamic and sporting look. The Carlsson RS front-spoiler lip continues the lines of the CLS 55 AMG harmoniously and – without being blatant – attracts a host of enthusiastic glances. Thanks to a reduction in lift, the driver profits from improved handling: a major benefit with such a powerful car.

The Carlsson sports rear silencer with four tail pipes dominates the back view. Given that a correctly tuned exhaust system is essential for increased engine performance, Carlsson sports rear silencers are optimised in comparison with the standard version in terms of backpressure and pipe run, which results in greater torque and a higher power output. The systems are made entirely of stainless steel and distinguished by first-class workmanship, which leads to a considerably longer service life. The design of the tailpipes also has a practical benefit: they are double-walled, i.e., not only thermally insulated but also more aerodynamic, which results in less dirt sticking to them from turbulence.
Last but not least, the CK 55 impresses with its Carlsson-typical and sonorous sporting sound that is striking without being a distraction.

Ultra Light forged wheels: extremely attractive footwear for the CLS 55 AMG

All this luxury should be combined with elegant and technically advanced wheels. The right choice here is forged wheels from the Carlsson 'Ultra Light' series. For the CK 55, Carlsson can supply them in the dimensions 8.5 x 20" (front axle with Dunlop SP Sport Maxx 255/30 ZR20 tyres) and 11 x 20" (rear axle with Dunlop SP Sport Maxx 305/25 ZR20 tyres). The elaborate forging process not only guarantees an impressive appearance but also offers genuine benefits: in comparison to cast 20" wheels, these extremely light wheels ensure better handling, improved steering characteristics and, therefore, greater comfort.

Intelligent lowering: Carlsson C-Tronic® SUSPENSION

The new C-Tronic® SUSPENSION supplementary control unit is used to lower the CK55 by approx. 30 mm, which results not only in a more sporting look but also less roll and, therefore, improved handling. An important component of the new C-Tronic® SUSPENSION is its intelligent electronic system that auto¬matically adjusts the suspension travel on poor road surfaces and thus smoothes out irregularities of all kinds. It goes without saying that no safety standards are infringed in any way.

Elegant ambience inside

Only those who feel comfortable in their surroundings can expect to arrive fully relaxed. For the CK55, too, Carlsson offers an exclusive range of interior appointments from which the customer can choose to suit his or her individual taste. Characteristic of all fittings are the close links between comfort, ergonomics and aesthetics. The combination of high-quality Carlsson leather and Alcantara in anthracite with rhombus quilting gives the CK55 an independent character. To match the upholstery, the standard trim parts are finished in black piano varnish. And, thanks to the ergonomically designed Carlsson sports steering wheel with its Alcantara covering, the driver has a secure and comfortable grip on the CK 55 at all times (cool in the summer, warm in the winter).

The muscular Ford Mustang GT-R rekindles the legend’s road racing glory and the magic of 5.0-liter Mustangs in a stunning racing concept making its world debut today. The Mustang GT-R signals a potential future race car, while honoring four decades of performance glory just days before Mustang’s 40th anniversary.

"The Mustang GT-R blends today’s breathtaking design, Ford Racing’s unmatched history and the most advanced racing technology into the ultimate Mustang," says J Mays, Ford group vice president, design. "Mustang’s iconic image grew with every checkered flag so we think the Mustang GT-R is an appropriate tribute to the car’s 40th anniversary, and a hint at what’s to come."

The bright Valencia Orange car – inspired by the famous Grabber Orange 1970 Mustang Boss 302 Trans-Am race cars (the Yellow Mustangs) piloted by race legends, including Parnelli Jones – is a technological showcase that, when peeled back, reveals a number of existing or production-feasible racing parts.

"The Mustang GT-R shows that Ford is back in road racing in a serious way," says Jim O’Connor, Ford group vice president, North America marketing, sales and service.

The Mustang GT-R features Ford Racing’s 440-horsepower "Cammer" crate engine that already is affordably available to grassroots racers, and can be tuned to produce more than 500 horsepower under certain race series rules. Last year, a tuned 505-horsepower version of the "Cammer" notched world-class performance and endurance credentials by powering a Focus Daytona Prototype to victory at the 24 Hours of Daytona race.

The racecar is engineered to tackle the world’s toughest road and street courses with a stiff structure – based on the all-new 2005 Mustang scheduled for sale this fall – a collection of the most sophisticated racing parts from many racing series and a Formula One-inspired steering wheel. However, the Mustang GT-R could be easily transformed into an affordable, competitive option for grassroots teams because it uses 85 percent of the 2005 Mustang’s body components along with the same suspension setups and the already-attainable "Cammer" powerplant.

"The GT-R is the Mustang racers would build if they weren’t bound by various road racing rules," says Dan Davis. "We were fortunate to start with a rigid, well-balanced production Mustang that was proven on the track by some of the same people who, in previous jobs, helped Ford Racing win on Sundays.

"The Mustang GT-R could be adapted to conform to different series and budgets but, in this variation, serves as a dream machine. We took the ‘Cammer’ engine from the Ford Racing catalog and built a race car around it with the best parts we’ve researched and tested through our unmatched global racing program," Davis says.

While conceptual in spirit, the Mustang GT-R is built by racers and is a capable performer with an eye on stepping up Mustang’s road-racing presence. Several racing series – American LeMans, SCCA Trans-Am, GrandAm Cup and the FIA – could easily accommodate the Mustang GT-R. For example, the car could meet some series rules with basic modifications to the brakes, wheels, tires and body parts.

The Mustang GT-R also hints at a turnkey grassroots-racing package that could be retailed through Ford Racing’s parts’ catalog and distribution network.

As if this wasn’t fast enough, at the start of 2003, Noble upped power further by replacing the 2.5-litre unit with a 3.0-litre V6 engine, again with twin turbochargers, but this time producing 352bhp (357PS).

There are currently two models in the range: the M12 GTO-3 and the M12 GTO-3R. Both cars use the same engines and underpinnings, but there are significant differences in styling, refinement and transmissions. The M12 GTO-3 is the entry model in the range, with a list price of £47,950. As with the GTO-3R, it has a GRP composite body over a spaceframe chassis offering impressive levels of structural and torsional rigidity. Inside, the cabin is spacious enough to accommodate people over six-foot tall and has excellent ergonomics, adjustable seats and steering column, a fully trimmed safety roll cage and Alcantara trim as standard.

At a list price of £49,950 the M12 GTO-3R is visually identifiable from the GTO-3 by its faired-in twin bi-xenon headlights and Noble-designed ten-spoke alloy wheels. Inside, the 3R has extra noise insulation and full leather trim as standard. But what really sets the 3R apart from the 3, is its all-new Getrag-Ford six-speed gearbox and Quaife Automatic Torque Biasing differential, enhancing its appeal as both a relaxed, high-speed GT and an accomplished track day weapon.

KLEEMANN presents yet another high-performance car without comparison. Based on the new SLK 55 AMG from Mercedes-Benz, KLEEMANN produces a power output of 596 Hp and 770 Nm with a KLEEMANN Kompressor System and a Stage 8 engine upgrade. The KLEEMANN SLK 55K S8 has an electronic speed limit of 300 km/h and hits 100 km/h in just 3.7 seconds.

The power source in the SLK roadster is a specially revised version of the eight-cylinder Mercedes-Benz NA (Normally Aspirated) 5.5 litre engine. Equipped with only the KLEEMANN Kompressor system the engines power output raises from standard 360 Hp / 265 kW and 510 Nm to an impressive 550 Hp / 404 kW and 718 Nm.

Additionally the SLK 55K S8 is fitted with the KLEEMANN Stage 8 tuning kit. The engines ECU is reprogrammed and application specific super sport camshafts are fitted. To further improve the engines gas flow the 5.5 litre V8-engine is fitted with custom-developed headers in stainless steel and a complete dual 70 mm stainless steel exhaust system utilizing four steel racing catalysts. As the finishing touch to it all, the KLEEMANN SLK 55K S8 is fitted with two Trapezoid-shaped rear mufflers.

After the full tuning conversion from KLEEMANN the eight-cylinder engine delivers a maximum power output of 596 Hp / 438 kW at 5800 rpm and even more important for the overall driving characteristic is the peak torque of 770 Nm available from 2000 rpm. This incredible power is routed through a custom-made KLEEMANN Limited Slip Differential (LSD) which applies a 60 percent lock-up ratio between the rear wheels. This modification is essential for maximum traction of the driven wheels and the fantastic acceleration figures for this car.

The power treatment pushes the SLK roadster far beyond normal sports car territory. Not many super cars are able to accelerate from standstill to 100 km/h in just 3.7 seconds and 200 km/t in 12.3 seconds, but the KLEEMANN SLK 55K S8 does so without any drama. Like all other high-performance KLEEMANN cars the top speed is electronically limited to 300 km/h.

To meet the enormous performance potential of the KLEEMANN SLK 55K S8, KLEEMANN has developed exceptional upgrades in terms of wheels, suspension and brakes.

The KLEEMANN SLK 55K S8 comes with a choice between the classic two-piece TM-5 and the three-piece forged TS-6 light alloy wheel, which can be fitted on the car in sizes ranging from 17- to 19-inches in diameter. The largest possible combination on the SLK 55K S8 is the KLEEMANN TS-6 alloy wheel in size 8.5JX19 for the front axle with 235/35 ZR 19 tires, and 9.5JX19 with 275/30 ZR 19 tires on the rear. The special shape of the TS-6 rim star augments aerodynamics as it exhausts the air from underneath the car. In addition to reducing lift this also increases cooling of the brakes and adds to the handling and stability of the vehicle.

To further increase the cars handling characteristics KLEEMANN has fitted the car with KLEEMANN Speed Sensitive Suspension which reduces body roll and increases the cars turn-in capability. Designed specifically for use with sporty low-profile tires it's a perfect combination of agile cornering and extraordinary ride comfort.

The safety aspect is handled by the KLEEMANN high performance brake system, which is designed for maximum performance under the most extreme braking tasks. Fitted with the largest KB-3 KLEEMANN high performance brake system the KLEEMANN SLK 55K S8 features 396 x 36 mm vented and cross-drilled two-piece brake discs with six piston forged and handmade calipers in the front, and 342 x 28 mm vented and cross-drilled two-piece brake discs with four piston forged and handmade calipers in the rear.

For further refinement of the sporty two-seater KLEEMANN can fit aerodynamic parts that emphasize the cars striking appearance. The cars front design becomes even more muscular with the low and stunning looking KLEEMANN front spoiler lip. To round of the visual look a custom developed rear diffuser panel is fitted making provision for the KLEEMANN sport exhaust system with one Trapezoid shaped rear muffler in each side.

Another focal point of refining the KLEEMANN SLK 55K S8 is the interior. KLEEMANN offers an extensive programme for the sporty roadster ranging from full leather to a combined leather/alcantara interior. The KLEEMANN program also includes a wide selection of individual accessories such as illuminated entrance panels with KLEEMANN logo, and an ergonomic KLEEMANN sport steering wheel with a choice of leather, leather/wood or leather/carbon. The finishing touch to the interior is genuine carbon inlays on the dashboard, centre console and door covers which creates a sporty yet comfortable and exclusive feeling.

The German tuning company ASMA introduced its package for the Mercedes-Benz CLS at the 2005 Essen Motor Show. Their new front end with a long grill and other aerodynamic components transform the CLS into a real eye-catcher. Even if the onlookers won't like the design, the owner can be certain that his car will be noticed. The Shark II rides on 20-inch multipart chromed wheels, with tire size 255/30 ZR20 at the front and 295/25 ZR20 at the rear axle. A sport exhaust system is also available. The modifications are rounded up by a high-performance brake system and a stiffer suspension, which lowers the car by 2 inches.
