The fee for getting your car impounded is a $50 towing fee, plus a visit to the court house, were the judge will decide if you get a futher punishment, the 50 dollars is added to the fine that you receive when you go to court this must be paid regardless if you get off or not. the vechile will be held for 48 hours, unless the offense isn't commited in your vechile. If that is the case the car can be picked up straight away by the registered owner.

It all depends on how much of asshole the cops want to be on the day I guess. I got done 'drifting at a set of lights, I told them it was an accident, all I got was a $240 ticket for driving a car creating unneccessary noise........no points!!! biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

My deducatory skills must be exceptional...

I had figured that he was safe, they would have at least pointed at him to pull over and if he didn't then that’s another fine. Failure to follow a police command or some trash.

While on the topic of videos what would happen if you posted footage of yourselfs or mates on the internet partaking in illegal activities. ie burnouts, and the cops who we all know visit sites like these view it. Is it hard evidence that could result in fines or even worse anit hooning laws? or is it because its personal footage its deemed unreliable?

What I want to know is that how would they know who is the driver? Like, how can you describe someone from their name?
What I have to say if they can't identify the driver, there isn't much they can do except hassle the owner. That about it.

Here is an interesting product that may save you the next time it happens guys, well atleast with a camera. http://www.1-radar-laser-jammers-detectors...dar/details.php They sell it on Amazon too. Couldnt tell you how it works but the boys at radardetectors.net recken it is pretty good along with that Veil Stealth coating but that is begining to get a big off topic. Check it out, you may learn something... or not.

Yes police like to use stand over tatics.

The first time I was ever approached by the police, they said they had a complaint from a neighbour about my so called "Hooning activites".

He was threating to take my car and impound it for 24 hours if I didn't admit to doing to skids down the road. They never even saw my car, they only knew it was a red MX5, no plates, no footage nothing.

The copper knew he couldn't do anything but he was really trying to get me to admit to doing burnouts ect....

Lucky for me I just said if you want my car get a warrant and come get it, I am not going to answer any more of your questions with out my lawyer present.

Needless to say he left empty handed.
No proof, no case.

just abit about the fines. i know for a fact that the "undue noise due to maner of operation" is a $240 fine. i got done for a burnout infront of suncorp stadium in brissy and a undercover copper pulled me up. i think however the amount is officers discreshion.
