I reackon stuff the northside, put it out just past ipswich, its nice and quiet out there and no one will complain about noise,

dude... problem.. willowbank is a stones throw from there.. wanna get away from that

BSIDE
Post #164

is the said golf-driving range on Beams rd?

cos i thought it was starting to shape up into one.

anyway, a dragstrip on the northside would be hot, or a drift track.

but public liability would be a killer

ROFL this is some funny shit.

I'd hate to think how much 1km of land near the airport would cost ohmy.gif And you say there won't be any pro drag cars? I certainly wouldn't be running at a track that didn't have the same safety features needed to accommodate these sorts of cars. If you've ever run a decent time in a street car you'll know that the braking area is much shorter than you would expect.

slayters_b
Post #166

yeah bside a few dudes took the idea from a uni project i did a few years ago went from there

mmm public liability is a killer but there are a few ways to get through it which we will explain soon

slayters_b
Post #167

never siad we wouldnt have the same safet features just not a track aimed at pro draggers

DAL32
Post #168

Well if you want it to be close to things, Pinkenba area would be an awesome place to do it. That's the area just behind the airport. Land will be costing you though.

You are missing my point though cos like you know how maccas and kfc are always close to each other, BigW and KMart, etc etc, its like comepetion

"ooo where do i go to today, willowbank, or bankofwillow, ooooo"

slayters_b
Post #170

yeah land is costly all of which we have taken into consideration, one of the main points of building the drag strip on the north side closer to the airport is so that ppl dont have to drive a million miles to get to it IE sunny coast ppl the airport is fairly central in brisbane

BSIDE
Post #171

who cares if land is costly???

of course it is, you dont start up a venture to never cover your outlay do you?

I cant believe some of you guys are so critical, we really do live in Australia dont we...

who cares if it never happens, but bringing someones ideas down isnt gonna help the cause is it?

theyre obviously attempting to do something beneficial to the scene

Sorry Slayters b and forskies to kill your dream...... but back when you guys where in grade 9 or 10 a community group spent the best part of 2 yrs submitting proposals to the state government trying to get a strip built on the northside of brisbane, the airport to be precise.

Now that was back in the mid to late 90's, yes back when you guy's and most of the half assed 18/19 yr olds that are getting all wet in the pants about your dream were still playing with GI Joe's.

Guy's after 2yrs and countless meetings and proposals, that bid failed, just as this one will, because the government and local action groups will not agree to it.

I would rather see the goverment rescue our health and hospital system before i see a drag strip built to cater for kids who can't act responsibly on the road or are too lazy to drive out to the best drag strip in Australia.

To finish, i totally agree with Carl Witt........... and unless you can drum up massive amounts of high profile support from the motorsport fraternity and support from big business in Qld......... your little wet dream will remain that.

Sorry.

if black duck valley can have it gates open to 200 or 300 mx rides very week
then public liability must be albe to be sorted
