technicly no.

the stock locations on vt's are 6"

you need to "trim out" the factory plastic mounts with an air saw to get the 6.5's in.

i can use a dremmel to do this and the cover hide all the chooped plastic aye??? and also i noticed the tape deck in it is of a double din size, will i need to purchase a pocket to go under it??? and will it be hard to fit the cd player i have fitted heaps but not in a vt how do i secure it in there??

once you removed the stock deck. you will see a double din hole (duh)

the best way to do it is to get a 90 degree drill bit, place the cradle for the new single din radio into the top of the slot and drill a hole thru the cradle and into the metal frame of the cars din slot.

now put a rivit on each side and the cradle will now be secure.

the deck will slide in and stay put, as for the pocket you dont need it, but it is a good idea, you can but them from holden spare parts or a mazda pocket from a 626 or 323 bout 95 model i think will fit

Good luck smile.gif

Whole door has to come off. I fitted 6 1/2" speakers in with no moodifcations to the plastic pods. They where kenwoods.

With the door cards, if my memory works, theres a few screws along the bottom, one in the middle of the door near the arm rest and the door opener. also you need to remove the orange/red piece of plastic from the door lock, then the lock pulls straight up and out.

The whole door trim has to come off. I fitted 6 1/2" splits into my VX and they fit straight in. You don't have to cut/trim anything. I used the existing wiring for power/acc/earth but have splits running off amp, so didnt use factory wiring for them. Also my headunit isnt secured but fits in nice and tight. I'm also using one of those 6 cd holders i bought from autobarn. headunit on top and pocket underneath it.
