My mate is lookin at converting his vq statesman from auto to manual. Any ideas on what box to put in how much and are there any places on the gold coast that would do an exchange for the auto already in it.

The T56 would be the best option due to the sheer weight of the VQ, plus if he decides to perform engine work at a later date. As for places on the GC not to sure, however he can buy the T56 from any U.S. automotive parts importer or even over the counter at Holden for the same price, often cheaper. Best way to get rid of the A4 would be sell it in the Trading Post etc.

There is a bit of work in the conversion with the cross member and pedla assembley etc but it can be done and has many times before. I would estimate the total project cost to be around the $7500-$9000 mark (T56 usually aroud the $5000, cross member custom made $500+, pedal assembely? engineers reports? then labour and miscellanious parts etc)
