Did anyone see that orange wagon at the test n flog last night??? It did probably the biggest wheelstand off the startline I have ever seen. And ran a 9.90 earlier in the night. That is one hell of an impressive car. I am also told he drives it on the road, and it is 100% legal because everything he has done has been engineered and modded properly. One megatuff street car. And I am a V8 boy

I forget the guys name, and like I said, I am a holden man so I don't really know my imports that well, but it is an orange datsun wagon. The guy I went to the drags with knows him well so i will ask him and post it tomorrow

if its a datsun the engine cant be stock. if its a 4, the only thing tough enough for a sub 10 pass would be an SR20. right?

I do believe it is a datsun 1200 wagon with a ca18det under zee hood

Could be sr i cant remember... but i am pretty sure it is a ca *shrugs* either way... its fucking ballistic and props to the owner for building such a tough ride thumbsup.gif

Would your brother like to post up said video's for all too see ?

Or do we have to organise an angry mob outside his house before he does that ? tongue.gif

If he doesnt have room to host em I'm sure one of the lovely members from boost would be more than willing to help him out ???

AWW CMON I WANNA SEE IT !!!!

`nigno
Post #11

P.S. Can someone confirm if it is actually a streeter or not ? Coz some ppl are saying its tubbed and others saying its in street trim.... so which is it ?

That is how 4cyls should be built

Congrats on the single digit!

Knowledge_is_Power
Post #13

It is deffently a street car. It was at the ADD dyno day and got smothing like 389rwhp out of a SR20. It holds the record in australia for fast 4 with street tyres.

your kidding right??.. the only 4 that could brake 10's is a sr20?? rolleyes.gif

hardly.......

just of the top of my head...

crazyfj - fj20 gemini runing 8's
gemracing - 1.6 gemini egnien runing 9's

then theres that datto ute with the fiat engine runign 9's (or quicker now)

sr20 isnt the be all and end all 4 cylinder

were you dropped on your head at birth?
"if it's a datsun the engine can't be stock" WTF he said it runs sub 10's what stock 4 cylinder of any brand runs sub 10's

and as for the SR20 being the only 4 capable of 10's....that's too stupid to even bother replying to

570kk - thats the one - he drives it to harrys diner often i have been told - and the cops have been over it several times without nailing him even once apparently - I don't give a shit what kind of engine it is, that is the toughest 4 cylinder car i have ever seen and that wheelstand on saturday night was nothing short of awesome. He must have hit his back bumper on the ground he was sooooo high.

I have spoken to his father before. Bought an engine off him and he said the datto in not street legal. Yes he has driven to Harries dinner before many years ago when it wasn't so quick and since then has been defected and is no longer street registered. In queensland you cant register a datsun 1200 with a sr20det only ca18det. datsun 1200=730kg
ratio = x 2.5 for lagest turbo motor
730x2.5= 1825cc

Actually to be really correct here, one of the crappiest 4cyl motors is the SR20...

Their blocks are weak and you cant rev them past 7700rpm without spending a mint on the head just to cope...

dunga motor!

his name is mick silk. as the other mick said (NIS016) he was stoked at getting into the 9's for the first time.

as for an sr being the only engine in a datto to do 9's just look at mark bourne's 1200 ute with CA18DET ET 9.91. And Tim's 1200 sedan with CA18 and a bloody ridiculous front mount ET 9.92@133mph drool.gif . I know that tims was a street car, well when it was going anyway. And i believe that we will hopefully soon see another datto into the nines, and another mick, NIS016 is a car to watch out for i think. wink.gif

I got a datto and my names mick, wish my car was that fast. hsdance.gif oh well plenty of time.

sept for all of the "baby Jun" motors that cost bout 7k-8k on mods and still have push in them at 8000rpm. But i agree that SR's arn't the be all and end all of 4cyl's.

i meant the original engine, as in the one it came with when it came out of the factory.

and sorry, i just havent seen a whole lot of 4s that are street legal which pull those times. sure there is a few running 9s but how many are street legal like what was specified in the topic?

pardon my ignorance tho.

well those cars i listed before are street legal except maybe mark bournes ute, which may be, i'm just not sure because i don't know the guy

ive got a CA but its a DE sad.gif oh well. may save up for the DET in a few years but may end up just buying a different car already turboed.

good grief, one of the fastest 4 cyl cars under 10 sec would have to be Brian Munros escort with 2ltr pinto engine running a 9.2 or something, and that was like 10 years ago and street driven daily.

i like cars that wheel stand... yeh haaaa

if you want to see a good wheelstand video of silkies wagon. just jump on fullboost and download the runs video from jamboree 2004. its in that video
