Yes they are

If the turbo setup is legal mounted low, mounting it high will make no difference whatsoever

But would that same turbo on the same manifold low mounted be deflectable?.....

Would hate to own a sigma turbo then wink.gif

I would imagine if all other things related to the setup where legal, then high mounting would be legal.

It never really crossed my mind either dry.gif

why would it be illegal?if it doesnt go over the legal emissions etc etc etc... then how you mount your turbo doesnt matter.. although i have heard that having an external wastegate is commonly defected and apparently not legal.. anyone know the go?

External wastegates would be illegal if it vents..... biggrin.gif

External gates are only illegal if they vent atmospherically, most gates go back and join the exhuast system deaming them not defectable items, but i always though it didn't matter how your turbo was mounted,

any mod to your car without a mod plate, that was not how it came from factory is illegal, and u can get defected for it, eg pod filter, highmount turbo, aftermarket turbo, front mount cooler etc...... the list goes on and on!

Any type of after market LARGE modification you make to your car (eg: Add/Bigger Turbo) you need a blue mod plate, for other small modifications you need to get your car inspected by an approved Engineer and get an Engineers Certificate, to justify that the mods were done within ADR, with these two things, cops cant touch you, unless they hear your blow off valve go off, then its a $240 fine for noise polution thumbsup.gif
