this brochure sounds like a good idea, will help resolve the problems that have arisen on the espy, it would be a good idea to hand them out at the bwcp also, cos most ppl you see on a saturday night you will see on the espy on sunday arvo. wiggle.gif

yeah sounds like a good idea. Problem is I live more than 3 hours away so if someone at the coast would like to donate some time?

Preferably one of the older members as we dont want to be seen as a bunch of whinging kids. Unfortunately ppl generally take older ppl more seriously.

Yep. Mark, im up for it bud. I have an ongoing relationship with the Police.

Lets see where this leads us.

Cool as - be good to get some input off them on what to include in the brochure too. Keep us posted.

HONDA GEEK - sorry not sure on who to contact - someone else suggested it.

I think the best thing to do for anyone looking to set up meetings etc with different ppl would be to make sure you are all working as one. As chris (boosted s15) is happy to have a chat with the police it would be good to check in with him etc.

I think we may be actually getting somewhere!!!

mate i can see 1000 brochures blowing the the breeze down the esplanade from people who dont give a rats. and then www.boostcruising.com will get done for littering.

dont get my wrong, i think its a good idea, but some people have no respect for anyone, and i dont think a brochure will help them.

what he said completely.

Why not organise a big cruise? Invite some media. On the TV the other week there was that big cruise protesting against police targeting modified vechicles. One of the participants of the cruise said to the media, "The police should be targeting cars with big rust holes in the side that you could fit your fist through". It stood out to me. Just an idea

Something about the words big cruise, protest, media & police give me cold shivers.

I work at GCCC in the town planning section and am very good at putting together an argument, i'm sure a couple of us could get together and meet police and GCCC representatives...

Who does your dad suggest we talk to though? The councillors or other council staff??? Susie Douglas is the councillor for Surfers so i guess she would be one person to speak to, and i guess we could try convice good ol Ron Clarke to come along....

i'll speak to him when he gets home in a few hours. i'll PM you with the details i get, see if you cant catch up with em

I'd be willing to distribute a few around the redlands if this gets going. Where having trouble with cops at the point latley, even though its really cleaned up down there, less skids and idiots. so I think it would be great to get the public involved with our cruises, and maybe even have like fundraisers for cancer or someshit. Or we could use the good publicity the brochure brings to raise money for a new race track closer to the city were we can race for free. Just a few ideas. I dont think we need the dos and donts, cause we dont need to be telling each other what to do, thats the cops job. Im just sick of hearing 'young hoons' from people who have no idea what actually goes on, and im sure im not the only one. so anyways PM me and we'll organise somehtign for up here and maybe someone else can make a run in the city somewhere to promote awareness in there.

Actually guys, i helped organise that cruise, and we had very little negative publicity at all. The biggest problem we came up against was that most drivers were afraid to take their vehicles out for the day because of the media and police attention. We had full police cooperation for the event.

I'm glad to hear that others are starting to take up the cause. I've got a contact number for someone on the Sunshine Coast who's been instrumental in starting the anti-hoon opposition movement up here; he could be of assistance to you. If you want his number, pm me or email.

personaly i love the idea im 16 n dont have my liscence yet (bloody name regulations) n have been down the coast a fair few time n 2 harrys aswell n seen all these people hooning around n it really brings down the scene into a '1 a hoon all a hoon' category. n thats going to make it harder for people my age to get out n have fun crusin n bing sensible.

on the big cruise idea it would be great if it had some major advertisment (spelling) n b held on a major day or weekend. flyers at jambo would be a great idea as well.

i work at a garage n im sure if i ask the boos nice like he would let me put a few up n we could try local news papers as an article or as a brocure ect.

a sticker of some type could as be made ie-: 'hoons will loose', 'public streets r not 4 hooning' ect.
