remove supercharger.... invest in turbocharger... (u'll need new manifold, etc, and alot of other stuff)

Is it an ongoing project or something you just want to put money into straight away and reap the rewards.

change the pulley on the supercharger to run more boost

Thats probly your best start, smaller pulley makes the supercharger spin faster and creats more boost. boost runs out quicker though, with a 4a gze U might get to about 15 pound but u will have shit all boost left by around 3500 rpm. 11 is good, lasts till about 5 grand.

Been done a few times already.

sr20 isnt different... its been done many times but why ?? get a late model 4gze with ae86 head and inlet manifold and decent turbo and 20+ psi shouldnt be a problem.

or you could twincharge your 4agze.

There's a guy with an RB25 in one also, keeps blowing diff's (undergoing a R31 LSD conversion), so that's already been done facesjump.gif

One of the first things I could recommend is learning where the CAPS LOCK key is hidden.

I would rip everything out of the car (backseats and everything thats heavy), put in a all the way exhaust, pod filter or k&n panelfilter with a modded airbox, bigger pulley for supercharger, new sparkies, new oil and take it driftin!!!!!!!!!!

Didnt know the ae86 came with an agze, thought it was only the aw11/ae92 onwards.
ANYway i digress, they only run 8-9 odd psi, crank it to 12 via the pulley size, then get it to a proffesional for the timing so the compression etc is all good. There really light so id go with Norway idea of taking as much excess stuff out as you can, lighter it is, the better, then get some nice hard suspension for the baby, youll be able corner on rails. biggrin.gif thumbsup.gif

as said previously, remove s/c and replace it with a t25/t25g and you will be laughing your way down the drag strip!

Sorry about the caps lock!!!! thanks for all the help... thumbsup.gif
i was thinking i should keep the supercharger??? i thought it would be better than the turbo (s)?? the trueno will already come with a full roll cage, soil overs and no rear seats or anything in the back so thats a start, i am buying it direct from the owner over in japan.
i am going to learn to drift so its all really exciting!!! biggrin.gif

just one sec man i'm pretty sure that no proffessional can adjust compression through timing adjustments. if you know of a way to do that please let me in, cheers.

on topic : truenos are mad little cars man i really don't know much about the supercharged ones though but i guess they work well for the old mr2s so should be a good strong engine. i reckon just wait and see what it looks like before you make too many plans. then make your decisions based on what you have to work with.

well the supercharger will give u good low down torque which should make it easier to drift, but a corectly sized turbo will still work fine for drifting and give u far more power than the s/c

yeah i know what it looks like from the outside but yeah i know what you mean but i am just starting to do my research and stuff.... it's painted pink.... that will be changed asap to a purple so yeah

Make sure to post up pics once you've stacked it with your fulli sik drifting skillz~ I think its a great choice to change the colour to purple because we all know it affects the amount of sick skids and dorifitos that a car can pull off. As a side note you might want to invest in a box of drift monkey stickers in advance.

do it on a racetrack so you don't end up stuck on a gutter.

that is my advice from someone who cannot drift and can admit it smile.gif

i agree!!! i can't drift yet.... wink.gif but i will be able to soon i hope... thats why i am getting the new car. my current car is to slow and not powerful enough.

First step is to put up a post on 'Boost so you can have a laugh at some of the replies. Check, done that.

Second is to come out to our driftday on Sunday and talk to many of the actual AE86 owners themselves about their and your car's and whats best for you.

Third is to bring your car out to our next event on the 22nd of August and start having some real fun. smile.gif smile.gif thumbsup.gif

Then you can work out what you need/ don't need to do to your car.

Easy as.

i am going to the drift meet on sunday at willowbank i live like 5mins from there. so i will be there for sure. thumbsup.gif what about you guys???

BiH~flava : i didnt mean adjust the compression through timing, just ment make sure its firing correctly under the new pressure. If your timing is set to early or too late the spark plugs detonate before or after the cylinder has reached its peak.
A fraction of a second can dramaticly change the compression at point of ignition.
Compression is where the total volume of your cylinder is compressed on the return stroke of the engine, as it reaches the peak they fire via the timing, if you increase your psi theres more compression, so you Should change the timing.
