i think you should buy an s15.. strip it out a bit pair of bride seats, front mount, exhaust, jic coilovers and castor arms and mabey some rear upper camber and toe arms just to finish it off and throw in a set of front and rear swaybars some 18x9 and 18x10 wheels with advan rubber.. and theres a nice drift car and u should have some change left from $50,000.

Adam.

There are some cheap import 31's in the tradingpost going for around 5-6 grand and some already have silvertop rb20's in them. They are awesome drifters facesjump.gif

Try to pick up an old Ford escort, they're not that different to the Corolla and probably cheaper

id personally go for a drift spec niki myself. The high hp from factory would be perfectly suited to drift.

just as a comparison... i got to drive Grim's rolla at skidpan on the weekend.
My car, Silvia, was easy to put sideways around the track, without a great deal of effort.
The rolla on the otherhand was a lot harder to slide aorund the track. Im my opinion, this actually provided a much better experience.
id definately rather take the rolla around again.. it was just a heap more fun.

This answers the question of which car requires more skill to drive "smoothly"

smile.gif

P.S In re: to the diff question... a stock KE70 diff is the same size as a stock AUS SPEC AE86 diff

If you want LSD Centres, you have to upgrade to a Jap Spec "T" series 6.7" diff and rear half shaft...

When I said 99% I was talking about suspension, not driveline...

haha i never compaired the gem to the rolla. im just saying. if the guy is learning he is gonna need something thats easy to slide with some balls to brake traction easy and the handleing of the silvia to help him get the feel for drifitng. where as a rolla (or gemini, or any older less balys car) u need to drive alot harder and lituraly throw it into the corner to get it to slide. with out " skillz yo' " it will be a lot harder to get the hang of it with the older car

catch what im throwing? wiggle.gif

Just get a fucken R32 GTS-T, they dont stop driftin. Just power though the corner and u will have mad drift no matter what rubber u got on the wheels or size of wheels.
But a AE86 got potential 2, ive seen them drift to the bullshit.

hahaha laugh.gif a drifter for 1k, i don't think so... you might be able to break traction in the wet but it's not going to be a very good, reliable drifter for that amount of money... keep saving dude thumbsup.gif

u have 1k to spened, yet u have money to make it into a "drifter"
instead of spnding the 5-6K on a silvia which already has the goods (and more) then what u can do to the rolla for $5000.

well this is what i think..... BullShit ---> CLICK ME
