What's the maximum boost can i safely run with a standard turbo, FMIC, zorst and bov for an RB20DET.

14 psi?

i take it you have an 89 model?
if so im suprised the standard turbo is still working unsure.gif
the turbo will go b4 anything else unless the engine is already quite screwed.

you may as well kill the turbo in there now and get a new one. thumbsup.gif its the only thing holding the RB20's back.

if you have a full exhaust from the turbo i would say you are already running at about 10-11 psi.

I dont think installing a BC would be worth it as you could only push 1 more psi safely

12psi, anything over say goodbye to reliability

yep the turbo will die soon enough when u up the boost

its not exactly the best turbo anyway, and putting in a new one, with no other chnages will net u a heap of power and heap more torque.

Yeah, im not really to worried about blowing the standard turbo, just as long as it doesn't take anything with it when it blows.

Great excuse to upgrade heh facesjump.gif

upping the boost to say 15psi will feel pretty quick, but it wont last long

since u have a FMIC, then temps shouldnt be a problem, therfore i doubt detonation will be a problem

therfore when ur turbo does let go, it shouldnt take anything with it

my stock t25 turbo was pumped to 18psi! on stock internals/intercooler!! and the engine survived fine, the turbo blew of course! but it gave me a excuse to get a nice t28bb turbo biggrin.gif

Should also be noted that a T25 uses a steel exhaust wheel not a ceramic like the RB20/25.

blow the sucker and get a new one!!!!!!!!!! u know u wanna!

when it blows it will likely take your motor down wih it. run 12psi at the most, don't risk it. reversion can pull the ceramic blades of the turbine back into the motor, as can falling apart lead the compressor baldes in there. motors don't like eating turbos.

Yeah, it sounds like you want to upgrade it anyway - don't risk screwing your intake, just ditch the old one and live happily ever after!!

I'd piss the standard fuel pump off, get a big bosch one and a malpassi and u should be able to run 16psi through it, even tho its ceramic wheeled. They love it, i used run 18-20psi with my standard turbs and never had a problem. Just make sure she doesn't ping, watch the timing! thumbsup.gif thumbsup.gif

i have been running 25 pound for about 5 monts with out a problem, have even screwed 2.2 bar in to it with my avcr, if your turbo can hold 25 pound it will wheel spin 1st and all of 2nd, but not every one is that lucky thumbsup.gif

Well considering the pressur loss thru a stock cooler 12-13psi is about as far as Id go.

And you fellas running 18+ you crrrazzzyyyieee mofos! tongue.gif

Boostn32 i seriously doubt you've been running 25psi on a stock snail with stock fuel management.

Im not going to wind up over 14psi until i've upgraded fuel system, ecu and turbs. Looking at GT2530.

a mate has a 32 with the normal support systems and is making 200rwkw on 17psi using a HKS2530.

yer i run myn on 14 sometimes. iv been told by alot of people that when you go over 14psi u seem to fuk things up. iv been told RB20 injecters can safely hold 14psi but that's it. ov course your gonna get people saying (yer put it to 18 thats what i did) so just stick to what most RB20det drivers say and only boost it up to 14psi thumbsup.gif
