True, if you're going to be worried about a whole 30kgs of weight I'd suggest you run around the block a few times and stop cruising to maccas so much laugh.gif

its an extra 30kg hanging over the front wheels rolleyes.gif

from an unbiased point of view, (since i dont give a shit about nissan 4 pots as u can tell)

CA is 'technicially' superior in the head and valvetrain department. over an SR. thats pretty obvious (who the hell still uses rockers ) ,

the rest is more my opinion or what ive been led to belive... the experts mighr want to ague over these things:

i dont know so i wont comment about the overal strength of the CAs bottom end... does anyone KNOW the journal sizes and mains sizes between them???

as far as the blocks integridy itself, i have been led to belive the SR has no advantage.

do SRs use a girdle like the CAs?

next point.. SRs are over square , only reason they have more midrange torque, but really no advantage for power, requires heavier longer stiffer rods to remain strong(?) , and i would assume anything with a big stroke also puts extra load on the big ends. and requires more counter balancing (??) all adding up to more resiprocating mass (and anothert term for the mass of the counterbalances i cant think of)

so all in all performance wise, i dont see why the SR should be placed above the CA. feel free to prove me wrong

FJs: tough as nuts big heavy good for drag cars . agreed?

I agree with Neil, SR > CA, you can have all the theory you want but your motor will only go as good as your worst component in it, and thats why the SR is a balanced motor compared to the wildcard CA......

The RB20 now lets "not" touch one??? why's this? cause you heard some random spew on about how they are crap? RB20's are really good motors just its hard to get bolt on mods as opposed to your SR..

and the FJ20 good luck stuffing around with sourcing an engine, getting your mods, ECU etc. etc.

I have owned all three engines and modified them all. The FJ20 makes more power and torque than CA or SR with the same mods and that's a fact tongue.gif . As for off the shelf mods, There are so many performance shops that will do custom work that is normally cheaper than buying kits from Trust, HKS, Apexi or any of the other 101 bolt on brands out there. wink.gif So why would bolt on mods be such a concern? head_wall.gif
