Hey guys
I'm pretty sure this topic has been spoken about but i could not find it. I was just wondering what were the laws on video recording on public and private property. For eg, am i allowed to film cops and anything i want to at roma, milton, harry's and so on without copping a fine?

no filming cops is illegal and you need the permission of anyone else to film them or their property.

You can film when are where ever u like.

The cops and council dont ask if they can film u thru their street surviellance cameras do they?

The law states (referring to voice recorders)As long as one party knows the conversation is being recorded its 100000000000% legal. And seeing if u were wanting to record a convo with a cop or something ,u would know when u hit the record button so its 1000000000% legal.

Sorry that refers to PUBLIC property.Private property is another story.Y ou would need lik a court order like when the cops bug places.

thats for voice recorders, like if a cop pulls u over, they can tape those convo's for use in court and dont have to notify you that they are recording it.

but i think he meant the laws on video recording.

BIG929 im pretty sure you have to notify them if you are recording the conversation. you cant just record it.

i meant the cops can record u without notification, i read it the other day, i was surprised actually.

i would say for u to record the cops, u have to notify them, like the whole thing about taking photo's of em, and they r just photo's, not recordings.

This question has been raised before and I spoke to an authotive organisation to confirm an answer on it. Your answer lies here https://www.boostcruising.com/forums/index....showtopic=26698

As for filming on private property that's a different story. Filming someone and then publishing it on the web or a mag without that persons explicit consent in writing is also a no no and a certain publication is about to find this out the hardway. Especially if money is charged to veiw it. That information was given to me in the last few weeks from a solicitor in Q.L.D. along with numerous other people who are now looking at taking a class action against the publication.

u are allowed to film a police officcer as long as one party is aware there is filming / recording going on ... i rang up council of civil libertys about it , then rang CJC asking if it was illegal to record a convo between me and a police officer and they said they arnt alowd to tell me that (legal reasons ) but there was nothing saying you couldnt
