This is the second time this has happened to one of my good friends! Last time it was a VL that a friend had poored all his money into.. and for what? Guys, be careful about who you choose to let drive your cars.. both times this has happened to two different boys that let girls drive their cars.. now.. i'm NOT stereotyping girls and saying they cant drive.. i mean i'm a girl myself! BUT there are girls out there that, i have NO idea what the are attempting to do, trying to look cool maybe? i dont know.. but they do things that they cannot keep in control of.. this is the second time in a matter of months.. and i really hate seeing friends in these situations.. please choose wisely about ANYONE driving your car.. even boys.. and just be careful!

and u raise a very good point.. not just about women driving your car, about anyone.

No you are right sims, unfortunately sometimes some of the worst drivers are female. But i know some males who are really really really bad as well.

I have seen a lot of my male friends let females driver their cars (and females that do NOT have licences or cannot drive confidently). And some of the damage that has happened to some of their cars from these females who they let drive just cause they think that these chicks will go out with them for that reason!

Guys you are only as dumb/stupid as you let yourself be. You dont want anything to happen to your car, dont let other people drive, and esp dont let people drive that you hardly know.

I let one friend drive my car and she nearly rode it off, so that was it, never again!

ahh bad luck. Suppose it's the risk you take when you pass the keys over to someone else.
I'm very trusting when it comes to letting other people drive my car. But I don't trust myself when it comes to ME driving other peoples. I just don't want that responsibility.

very good point sims

i know a few people this has happened to as well.

I'm fairly picky about who drives my car too... but regardless of what happens, I have insurance to cover myself regardless of who is driving, as long as they have a valid licence and aren't under the influence. If anyone is interested in finding out a bit more about this type of insurance then please pm me and I can point you in the right direction.

Having said that, its much easier to just make sure anyone who drives your car has the ability to drive a car with the power your car has and the size of vehicle that it is.

Secondly, don't *ever* let someone play silly buggers in your car, regardless of how good a driver you know they are. I know a couple of people who have been track racing and know cars and how they work/drive implicitly, but if either of them did stupid shit in my car? I'd rip their balls off thumbsup.gif

Now i'm not saying that anything that happened to phils car was the result of anyone being silly buggers - sometimes accidents do happen, and there is very little you can do to stop them.

Just be careful of who touches your baby i spose.

this one guy I am very good friends with let this chick drive a $40,000 + car that he owned. She was only just on her learners and had never really driven before.. Umm yeah you can guess what happened next.. And he wasnt even in the car with her. How stupid stupid stupid !!!

Im not saying all females are like that, Im not and I know sims you arent either wink.gif. I would rather drive my own car. And I have often refused to drive other peoples cars because I know if something happens its a big responsibility to take on board.

yeah.. i'm the same.. i try and avoid putting myself in the situation.. but then again.. i have driven other peoples cars BUT i DO NOT and WOULD NOT ever put myself in the stupid situation where i'm trying to look 'cool' by fanging around a corner realy fast or trying to do a skid or whatever.. i do not do anything in a car that i know i'm not capable of controlling.. in other words.. basically i drive carefully and calmly (in other peoples cars).. i dont want the burden of crashing a mates car or having to pay for it also..

haha i'm the same

i drove a car worth over 40k on sunday actually, i don't think the turbo kicked in the whole time i drove it laugh.gif 0-60 in 10 minutes in a 14 sec car haha biggrin.gif

i spose the age-old joke of 'dont touch what you can't afford' really rings true - if you can't afford to replace someones car, or pay their excess or whatever - then don't drive it. always expect the worst....

I agree with all of this apart from Kei laugh.gif

Lucky I'm old and there is an age limit to drive my car wink.gif, mind you I know people over 30 who have lost control of their own cars thinking they can drive.

You really can't trust anyone sad.gif

well said troy.

ive let a few mates(male and female) drive my car, usually when im in it with them, but these are all ppl who ive trusted implicitly and who also own high performance vehicles and respect them.

i would NEVER let someone (namely a gal) drive my car, just to IMPRESS her. not to mention insurance prolly wouldnt cover it.

i feel for fidels loss, that car whas PHAT.

I've learned not to let mates drive my car (wether they be male or female). Only myself, and my family (brother, mum n dad) are allowed to drive my car, cause they are all on the insurance. I dont really like to drive other people's cars, but I have done, i drove a 13 second skyline a couple of times that was owned by someone on these forums, and I dont think I came on boost for the first, ooh, 20 minutes of driving it, because it was the fastest car that ive driven, and I couldnt afford to replace it if I crashed it.... I did give it a bit once or twice, but that was after id eased myself into gettin to know the car a bit...

But I guess, these people (Fidel and the person who owned the VL) will have to learn from their mistakes, as unfortunate as it is, I guess thats life aye...

no the point is if he didnt let her drive it wouldnt of happened.

how is she a retard.

had a lic for 3 days and lets her drive a car with mini spool and boost rolleyes.gif rolleyes.gif rolleyes.gif

Yeh i let a friend drive my car it was a female and i was intoxicated and she wasn't so i did the responsible thing and let her drive me home (this is when i had 51KVR), anyway i think she got a little pedal happy and not having driven a V8 before let alone a modified one she planted and the car took off side ways and began to spin. Luckily nothing came of it apart from being a little shook up. There is now very little ppl who are allowed to drive any of my vehicles.

This chick i know wrote her car off into a pole, Then 3 weeks later her boysfriend was blind drunk at a party and her told her to drive his hotted up civic and she wrote it off too (into a tree). So now she gotta pay for two cars be replaced ... lets just say it wasnt a good sight. Also thats unlucky sims.
