Having worked in the insurance industry; I can confirm it is insured but just not for you to drive it. You won't get an exemption, it's black and white. You can't apply for one for this vehicle because it's not a moderately powered turbocharged vehicle. The only exemption you can possibly apply for is the hardship exemption.

However since you just paid 20K+ for this car, good luck proving that you need an exemption for it.

Honest advice, since you have SOOO much money, buy a P plate exempt diesel ute and set the FD as a full race car and trailer it to the track and enjoy the hell out of it, no need for $4k wasted insurance and hassles with licence. I can assure you once you have played on the track with the big boys, the street racing will seem so pointless.
