As Sincrow said but im guessing this would be a bit of a trailor queen, but it wasnt the wheels that got my attention, its the lines and the paint work that justg make me think WOW!!!

Yes Doc, it does... But that's about it, and I'm not even sure they're legal here.

I posted something about the ZR1 a few weeks ago, about how the Americans said they couldn't make them RH drive for aus, some Aussie company succeeded, and if the hit our shores they will have a price tag of 300+k

See this regulation makes no sense to me...
I drive a '66 mustang which is left hand drive.. i dont need to get it converted nor do i need a permit to drive it..
however if i buy a brand new car i need to convert it?? wtf how does that even make sense? surely a new car is safer than an old one..

Because Australia car laws suck.

My biggest question is why does it have to cost 3 times as much then in the US

Ive always wondered about this myself, old boss of mine always bought F350's from the states and got them converted yet like your Stang can stay left hand drive dunno.gif even stranger still, mate of mine old a big old Winnebago from the State, still left hand drive, he said its a real bitch to negotiate round-a-bouts etc in it...

The 30 year rule is there not for any safety reason, but purely to protect domestic industry. Same with the LCT (that's most of what doubles the price of high end cars) and the ridiculous "live with it for one year first, and only one every five years" personal import rule.
It's all there purely to make it difficult to bring cars in from overseas. FTR, as far as I know, we are the only developed country that doesn't allow both sided cars to be driven.

Oh and don't forget the "can't import a varient of an existing model" rule that stops me importing a Smart Brabus Roadster.

You can thank Sports Illustrated for this one.

They've given Kate Upton fans a deeper ogle look at her Swimsuit 2013 body-paint shoot from earlier in the year, posting a behind-the-scenes video on their YouTube channel. Watch above!

Naturally, the 21-year-old is posing au naturel on a beach in the Bahamas — apart from a painted-on necklace and painted bikini bottoms.

"I was happy to take off my swimsuit for a little warm weather!" she beams in the clip. "I definitely feel naked. Because I am. It is just paint."

JUST. PAINT. That means complete exposure, people.

The hardest part to paint on Kate's body was the intricate neckace. We wonder why?!

Whatevs,

I wouldn't let it bother you. I don't particularly like wtf's car, not that I can't appreciate the effort that Nissan have gone to in developing the vehicle. It's just that the overall design seems plain to me, even with wtf's changes i'd still have done things differently.

I just don't need to bag him out in his car thread or hate on him, hence why I haven't posted anything in that thread.

and as a comparison, that rx7 that sincrow took the pics of, whilst I can admire how clean the car is and props to the owner, it still doesn't do it for me. maybe some of that's just presentation - no interior or engine bay shots - but the problem I have with it - and with the gtr, is that they're still a dime a dozen.

I like my vehicles to have individuality, not be a part of a mass production run - even though these vehicles have sold only limited numbers - due to the pricing.

the gtr / rx7 is just a Japanese taxi imo, same as a bmw = german taxi etc etc. when you've seen one you've seem them all.

AlphaRX7 - Dont you drive an RX7 ?

my play car, yes.

this is one of the reasons I can still appreciate the rarer import vehicles, even an occasional Nissan s13-15, although with the rash of pimply p plater hektic drifters that tend to inhabit them they're a bit on the nose.

plus I like the old school cars - even though they're were once common, they're rare enough now to appreciate a well modified example.

I agree!!! after all its only a forum, i have never met the guy, so i have no reason to hate him...

wolfman101
Post #10494

I don't hate the guy either. I have no idea whether I would like him or not. He does horrible things to cars usually, and has tried in the past to dress up cars as something they're not (which of course pushes my buttons). Notice he actually never addressed whether or not he has dressed up an, 08 model as an 11 model...
To address the obvious, yes, I did the exact same thing on my AMG, but didn't try to pass it off as actually newer.
I did it because it looks better, and if that's all he's doing that's cool. I just don't like deception.

that's what modifying a car is though, sticking bits on. it doesn't neccesarily make those modifcations tasteful / end result.

I tend to prefer something a bit more extreme than just purchasing something off a shelf, and seeing the owner do the work themselves, if they're able. just like I do a fair amount of work on my car.

silly story time - I spent an hour yesterday restoring the cigarette lighter on my car - cleaning all the old ash off it to make it look like new, repainting the white display overlay and figuring out why it didn't stay sprung in etc. this was all an end result of having imported a centre bezel panel from the united states this year, so I could actually get the lighter working for the first time in the 19 years that I've owned the vehicle. plus a few other parts that I needed, like a digital clock, that never came out here in Australian based vehicles. stuff like this is all a part of taking pride in your vehicle.

I was nearly going to have a dig at him about that, along the lines of didn't he trust you enough to pop the bonnet,or let you sit in it.A couple of interior
shots, and a shot of the engine bay would've made it,but I loved the two he took at the railway crossing.

We at Spam luv ya Wolfie, and I've said before that you modify your vehicles in such a subtle and tasteful way, that a lot of people would notice it,and just think,
that's the way it comes, even down to the R8 badge you fitted thumbsup.gif

i'm a bit blase regarding rotaries, after having bought various magazines for the last 20 years / been in the scene for that long, it takes something pretty extraordinary for it to stand out imo. not trying to be critical of the vehicle.
