It's not easy CyberTech I know what you are going through. I'm ready to open a shop of my own here on the Gold Coast, got everything I need i.e hoist, stock etc etc but yet can't find a decent location. Most of the old servos aren't up to scratch and it's nearly impossible to find somewhere with ceilings high enough to put a hoist in. I looked at that old BP servo but thy want to much for rent and the security factor is a huge concern also being so surronded with bushes etc. If you own a performance shop you have to take security into consideration to a very large degree.

Security can be taken care of by me *haw haw haw* my brother being a group 4 security area licensee

hehe OVL666, i work about 3 buildings down from the old BP that you are talking about. our business is too large for where we are now, so the boss bought the massive piece of land on the otherside of the creek to that servo (we will be looking at the servo when we move to it)

contruction is started as the slab has been layed (sp? laid?)

its Kingston Drive, Gaven, smith street is the next turn off (runs parallell to the M1 heading south) if anyones serious, named by my boss that street.

sounds tight!!! somewhere closer to brissy i think would do better though, as i know everyone at brissy is sick and tired of going to roma every week and worrying about defects -- get a lot of business though i rekon

ice break, V's, and high octane fuel and you be laughing. drift vids sounds tough too!

yeah sounds like a good idea, talking about it and doing are 2 different things, if u are going to make a place like that, the goldcoast is the place to do it, think of how many cruises are down there everyweekend, bwcc and such.

good luck, sounds like a really good idea

however I do see one flaw that you may have already picked up on etc.

but if your not offering a workshop service won't business be slow bar thursday/friday/saturday nights when the cruisers are out?

G'day all,
Things like:
Drift merchandise like vidz, clothes, stickers, etc.

Small bolt on parts, like pods, rice canons, computers, etc.

Maybe a few internet terminals and a lounge and big screen showing drift vidz (like 101 AutoCafe). Oh, and a fridge full of Ice Break.

don't take this the wrong way, I mean it in the most honest and constructive way.. but it seems to me the 'target' consumers are a relatively small group, especially you are only targeting drifters?

perhaps you could go on to convert a garage bay into a 'hire a spray booth', and maybe have a dyno for comps.

but in all honestly I think your going to need to offer something more or 'different' for it to be long term successful/viable

True that.

well ya should also own a few work bays, l will work there during the week doing services and fitting aftermarket gear even computers l dont mind it would be heaps better than were l work. l would be happy to run the dyno 2. biggrin.gif

then on friday nights u could have promotions like jelly wrestling biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif
