I think that with the help you have given you can name your time Shane, but I would like to see you be the first non-competition V8, therefore ensuring you will start out leading the pack and have a shot at retaining the trophy you are so kindly donating!

Heard of four cars that were on the rollers this week, two making over 500 hp, one at 480 and one at 460. Should be a good day.

No chance, it wasn't tuned and would have made as much, we did offer to run it with a probe up its arse and a knock sensor but Chris wisely turned down the offer. Next time he will give us a shake! cool.gif

true true, i did mean when it was all set up & tuned / run in correctly, oh well next time ey biggrin.gif

Grump2
Post #159

Definitely, he told me my $1,000 is his next time! I told him to 'JUST BRING IT' in 6 months.

Yea on bail would of given u a run for ya money as well. But they didnt bring it so they didnt get it i guess.

Grump2
Post #161

ON BAIL came, but had a few dramas late Saturday night. He tried very hard to get the car right, even putting different injectors in it. We offered and Stef and Mark agreed to run the car with an air-fuel probe up its arse, however Mark made only 463 and 433.8. Not bad when your car makes that with a problem! Until the MYT13 Soarer ran very late Mark was going to win the class........

He too can JUST BRING IT in 6 months and go for the grand. Good bloke and a damn good sport who only put the car on to show people what he had and too support the event. Really appreciated Mark!

Greg with the Subzero 180SX came second with 350.7 then 349.7; behind Angelo with 384 and 358.6 from his Starlet. Will post full results. I think both cars have a little more in them biggrin.gif

That starlet was awesome!! biggrin.gif

Enthusiast
Post #166

That stralet and ute are suicide cars such power full cars with so little weight, the ute with no weight in the back and the starlet front wheel drive great cars but.

Grump2
Post #167

Both are great cars, but I would certainly wear the brown undies in the Starlet and the black ones in the Ute. The Ute had no rollcage, not even any "jesus" bars!

s13viper
Post #168

lol, ok im nowhere near that power, oh well, mabye by next year tongue.gif

still ima gunna hope for 250hp by the next big comp

Grump2
Post #169

Everyone has to start somewhere. My first car was a TA22 Celica with a 1600cc Twin Cam, which was pretty quick for a 4 when I got it in 1989! I reckon it might have cracked a very high 16 with a tailwind. On this basis 250hp is not bad, and it also depends on who turns up on the day.

hi guys, sorry i could not make it on the dyno due to a fresh motor and was not tuned as yet, but will bring it next timein 6 months for the taste off the money up for graps smile.gif

we did tune it last night on pump fuel on 14psi and end up making around the 317hp mark and not reving it all out. there is still alot off sorting out before we get some big figures, but will keep you posted, looks like this turbo starts working over 15psi. sounds like a jet taking off biggrin.gif

thanks again GRUMPY2 for the offer and the great day, see you again. maybe head to head at auto salon. smile.gif just kidding

i saw ON BAIL there lookin phat as, good work bro biggrin.gif

Grump2
Post #172

We are contemplating not taking the car to Autosalon, as I need to get some seat time between now and the Jamboree. We did a clutch on the Friday before JUST BRING IT and as a result had to get a new one and then retune the car slightly, meaning we had a poor down on power tune. This was evidenced by the fact that we only ran 30psi when we usually run 35psi, whilst the motor still had great compression!

We have thus pulled the box and clutch out, have a brand new Direct Clutch Twin Plate and also a Jerrico, which we are currently fitting in the car. As soon as this is done we are going to put a real tune in the car and wind the boost back up, maybe a little more fuel pressure too, cause it was dropping over 6000rpm and killing the power. Besides, we don't want you guys to know how much you are going to need in 6 months time cool.gif
