how does that work ^^ Simple; Brisbane's peak hour commute times are directly proportional to the amount of trucks that have crashed each day +/- trucks that have also knocked out part of the rail system |

Yup here too. Just the other day some funking idiot truck driver killed someone when a metro train crashed into his truck. Why did it crash into him? Because he was impatient and rather than waiting for the boom gate to go up, he decided to drive around it.. It caused massive delays for HOURS. |

I drive trucks a prime mover just do local work I don't tailgate don't do stupid sh!t.It shits me how a few bad drivers give a bad name for the whole industry,as for saying we have no right to be in the right lane load of garbage why should I sit behind some retard doing 90k's in a 100k zone if I need to use the right lane I will and have every right to do so.Really you should think about where you would be without trucks yeah there is some freight that could be put on rail, but your cars are delivered by truck fuel for your cars even the food on your table like the stickers say without trucks australia stops.I know there is some retard truck drivers out there but some people should go out in one for a day and see what we have to put up with.Only yesterday I was turning left from creek rd on to logan rd the lights from creek rd to logan rd were green an ambulance was going south on logan rd with a red light and had a clear left lane to use so retards in cars move into the clear left lane causing the ambo to go up the island as he passed through the intersection an old retard in a red camry goes straight through the intersection straight in front of the ambo.Just one example I could nearly fill a page a day with stupid sh!t cars do around just my truck.Yes there is some real retard truck drivers out there I just hate all truck drivers been looked at as bad or moron drivers because of a few bad ones.End rant flame suit on. Thats great you say don't do stupid crap but your answer beg to differ. As a person who drives prime movers, which are some some what heavy andn has poor breaking distance in an emergency you really don't have the right to be in the right hand lane. So a car in front is doning 90k's in fornt of you. Why do you need to overtake and do 100? I honestly can see where you are coming from and do see how frustrating it can be to have cars cut in front of you but you are a heavier vehicle and you need to create the distance when it happens. |

and why don't I have the right to do the speed limit? M Y TRUCK IS LIMITED AT 98KMH and if it wasn't safe to do so why is it limited at this speed?.I agree with you twat that bloke was a complete dick and like i said before its the ones like him that give everybody a bad name.I rolled a truck on the gateway motorway a few years back going north over old cleveland rd when it was only 2 lanes still.Police car and roadworks truck both sitting on the dirt on the side of the road big yellow arrow flashing to move to the right blue and red lights flashing on police car, both police and roadwork crew standing there having a chat no lanes were blocked they wern't even doing roadwork ,cars coming on the motorway at old cleveland rd saw the arrow flashing and then the police lights I was already in the right lane before I got over old cleveland rd as I seen the traffic entering the motorway but 4 or 5 cars that wern't obviously paying attention all piled into my lane then decided to come to a stop for no reason at all ,one car that was paying attention and seen what was happening that was coming up the left side of me braked to give me room to move and the only place to go was down the embankment were the little creek used to be truck ended up on the left side .I was never charged and was actually praised for my actions from the police that seen it all happen .If I didn't do what I had done and put my own life at risk no dought would have killed the person in the car that last pulled in front of me (grey mazda 3 hatch) and seriously injured or killed more people as 30+ton hitting a line of stationary traffick at still around 60k's wouldn't be a good thing.None of this was my fault what so ever ,so I know how quick things can come unstuck when people aren't paying attention to whats happening around them.None of it was luck it was only me knowing what was going on around me and quick thinking not luck that saved one possibly more lives. But in a way its the same thing as the thread about the new hoon laws there is always going to be people that put all truck drivers in the same basket because of really a small minority, just like all car enthusiusts will be called hoons because of a small minority of morons that drive like funkwits. And nothing I say will change peoples minds jusy having a bit of a vent.To answer your question about distance before this happened there was nothing what so ever in my lane until the cars came on the on ramp and into my lane its the only accident i've had in over 20 years of driving prime movers and have never been booked while driving one doing both interstate and local driving. |

Simple; Brisbane's peak hour commute times are directly proportional to the amount of trucks that have crashed each day +/- trucks that have also knocked out part of the rail system But boomgates are worth 10 points each! There was talk of putting cameras in at these crossings in Qld because they had so many accidents and near misses from impatient people doing this. I really don't get some people. You'll find that up north that a lot of railway level crossings now do have cameras on them, put in by QR National. Especially between Emerald and Rockhampton. I know Blackwater does for sure, I went through there during October and the level crossing there has 10+ cameras on it. Lots of 2km long coal trains at 80kph/100kph and some coming over blind hills take a few kilometres to stop. Also DTMR has listed some crossings as B-Double crossings when they aren't. At Comet a few years ago a train came and hit a cotton truck that was parked over the line at the highway, now they have a slip-lane put in on the highway side for the trucks to wait in, but it's still not enough. |

Murarrie level crossing has a camera either side activated by the by the red lights.I think what nucking futs is talking about is the one a couple of months ago that happened in the morning at a level crossing. In that case the driver was not at fault the gates weren't down lights not flashing and no train was coming at the time the truck crossed his truck got stuck on the level crossing the poor driver almost lost his life as he was under the truck trying to jack it up to get it off the tracks when the train hit.So I think that one more comes down to qr not maintaining there level crossings properly.the driver lost it was either one or both legs in that.and as for his comment on peak hour commute more car accidents slow or stop traffic more than truck accidents which are mostly caused by cars cutting trucks off. |

Actually I was more talking about the relatively often occurring situation of a truck driver ignoring low-clearance signs approaching rail bridges, specifically in Milton and Indooroopilly, hitting the bridge which means no train can go over it until it's been cleared by engineers. |

Wrong. The collision at Banyo was due to the fact the truck driver was rat-running, and he was using a level crossing not suitable for large trucks. |

Was driving to work yesterday behind a hilux whom was tailgating a car that was driving 10k's under the speed limit. I finally got behind this slow car at a set of traffic lights and than god I was turning casue I really didn't want oto be behind him and then I noticed why he was going slow. He was reading a damn newspaper while driving. I could not believe my eye so I had to get a photo of it and now deciding what I should do with it. |

When-March 2012 Where-Marine Parade, southport. out the front of southport pools some funkwit in a white soarer comes flying past me in my little holden bazza, pulls in front of me within millimetres of my front bumper. i flashed them, they then proceeds to give me the finger. I then react by getting my girlfriend to pass me my 14'' machete from under her seat. pull up at the lights and jump out of the car to see its a wait for it....... woman driver ![]() ![]() ![]() So she did something dumb, you flashed your lights, she gives you the finger and react by getting out of your car at a set of lights with a 14'' machete? You're a dead set funking idiot and don't deserve to be allowed out in public, let alone be allowed to drive a car. |

I saw a Champion example of one of these Bad truck drivers today. I was going down Teviot road just before the woolworths when i noticed how close the truck infront of me was to the ute infront of it, from what i could see there wouldn't have even been a meter in between the ute and the truck while they where doing 70kph. the ute turned down pub lane and the truck started picking up speed and then towards Greenbank road he got on the brakes went out partially into a lane with oncoming traffic nearing the same intersection just so he could make the turn at a speed which was obviously to fast for his truck since he almost took out the car waiting to turn onto Teviot rd with his trailer. |

Just seen the Pac Hway Greenslopes crash like 20m from my rear end, BMW 330i (?) did 720 spin from right lanes to left, smashed the left barrier, ricocheted into fastlanes barrier and got hit by a Hilux. Dunno if it was driver error although it did look like he was speeding, he was gaining on me while in the spinout, I was doing 90. Watching that sh!t in my rearview mirror, never seen anything like that in my life. Yes I stopped to help, they were ok. Passenger was hawt |

this lol would you actually use it in the event of road rage ? i have a base ball bat under mine will i use it yes. IMO the Machete is a bit messy. Let's go hyperthetic for a moment, say he was involved in a road rage incident, and it just happens to be you that he is involved in it with, you jump out of the car with a baseball bat. I'd say more then likely that he is going to use it being driven by the factor of fear, not saying that he is a woos, simply because if someone is coming at you with a baseball bat you are going to be inclined to defend yourself and the car at which time he had his girlfriend inside. And as for those asking what he was going to do with the machete, he's already stated that nothing happened, he never used it so I don't see the big deal. I myself have a 6" boning knife a 10" glider a 12" glider and a 14" bull nose in my car. |

All these terry tough cunts in here. Carrying weapons in your car.. Seriously? fiddlestickss. There is a difference between carrying a weapon for safety, and pulling out a weapon with aggression when angry. Not thinking I'm tuff, I'm not tuff at all hence the need I feel to have a weapon wich may keep me safe in an ugly situation. I avoid physical incidents at all costs, but if I had my girlfriend in the car with me and some fella were to charge my car, I would have no problem leaning over to my lock box, grabbing out a knife and simply giving him a quick glimpse as to avoid a confrontation. More then likely if you are the aggressor and I wave a knife at you, you are probably going to think twice and hop back in your car meaning nothing but words have been said, if you however were putting my gf at risk or any passenger I may have at the time, then things may be different. In saying this if it does happen to scare the other person off, chances are they are going to be more inclined to not have a road rage incident as proving anyone can have any weapon at anytime. Yeah I might have a knife, but that 70 yo hard ass may have a gun and so on. I'm not saying using a weapon or even having a weapon is ok, because it's not. However I'm willing to take a chance of staying safe then getting my ass handed to me or worse, the person going to town on my car. /rant |
