Get your money back, you should have bought an n/a.

What makes you special enough to drive a turbo on your p's?

Nothing, that's the best part.

I'll find what i have for you tomorrow, i got an exemption for 4 door and i know 2 doors are exempt.

The law now states everyone is "special" enough to drive certain turbo cars.

Redbook is your friend, they do actually have fact sheet printouts that you can send in.

Too bad the Skyline is banned for P platers.

It amazes me that kids these days are wasting their money on overpriced 20yr old cars for the sake of looking cool.
You would of been better off spending the money on a reasonable late model sedan or ute, much better car, better fuel, and you are only asking to be pulled over by every single cop driving a GTST with a P plate in the window.

Wrong. R32 both coupe and 4door are completely legal and I know of at least one getting around with the exemption

Wrong.. So long as the cars factory quoted power figure makes it under 125kw/tonne and has less then 8 cylinders it is able to be made exempt after approval of application. Which is all op is wanting to do, he just needs proof of factory power figure and weight.

Edit: if you don't have an exemption then in the event of an accident an insurance company will most likely void your insurance policy. So yeah a pretty big gamble that could ruin your life.

You certainly gave yourself a headache by buying a R32 without first investigating how you would get a "fact sheet". You could ring Nissan, but they may not be able to help as it is not an Australian delivered car. Finding information from Nissan Japan is probably next to impossible too. Good luck with your hunt for information, I hope you discover how to get it approved.

Wrong.

I e-mailed a super secret nissan JP address and they sent me a spec sheet on the 4 door on Nissan letterhead signed by the bloke that did it. (i didn't even use it for my exemption application because i didn't think i'd get a response)

The hard part was finding the funking address, legit took me 30 minutes.

Download the exemption application, fill it out for the power weight ratio part, get the forms that say the weight and factory power of your car and pay the $35 admin fee, wait 3 weeks then your legal thumbsup.gif

Well, I now stand corrected. Can't help but think this wasn't the brightest decision/revision of laws ever made.
