Cleaned out the interior, scrubbed the food stains out of the passenger seat & decided to delay washing & polishing it until tomorrow because it looks like it's about to piss down with rain.

Started doing some measuring for a V6 conversion, which should cost similar to a 4A swap and weigh around the same :oopsie:
[/quote]
is this for some sort of RWD corolla and are we talking aurion V6? :dancingcool:

I looked at it in disgust after it cost me $90 to get it towed home last night.. Grrr! :(

Looked like a split heater hose around the back of the engine but didn't have time to look at it today. Looks like the gf ain't driving until I finish uni exams.. :oopsie:

Yes i drive hard, what of it? :hsdance:

Also on a side note, don't jump cars with fitment at high speed (look at where the body landed on the tyre and cut the sidewall :oopsie: )

Come on now buddy, I know this is Off Topic but don't talk such nonsense! (in their defense, they aren't a bad engine though).
So the medium-difficulty of an ECU to run quad-channel VVTi is solved, however going off my measurements it's going to be TIGHT. I've heard talks from other people of notching the rear crossmember but super, super not keen.

All fuel/clutch lines are out, head disassembled and ready to be removed (when I find my godamn 10mm 12pt socket and ratchet), all the other shit is gone from inside the bay including the fibreglass insulation which is currently irritating the shit out of my arms.
Gonna go try and remove the engine without a ratchet (lol) or an engine hoist. This might be interesting.

Trade plate and drive it?

My mechanic did that for my last exhasut and drove down Moss st. the day after he had built my engine with just extractors. Old six, full race cam, rich tune, very high comp Loud as a mofo!

Definetly turned some heads haha! :P

It has rego, it currently has no old exhaust or manifold because its getting turbo manifold, dump & 3 inch back from there. Not to mention its isn't in a state to run at the moment.

Plus I definitely think that the 50 minute drive with open headers might turn the wrong sort of heads :P

Changed the fuel filter.

the_random_hero
Post #1145

Thought I could smell fuel - when I jacked the front end up it must have started leaking from the top of the filter and I didn't notice. Dumped probably 10L onto the ground, which conveniently washed away the oil I spilled removing the engine yesterday.
Least I have some free mower fuel now!

Found it, or at least it was reported dumped to the council, taken to a holding yard where they checked the numbers and realised it was my stolen car. Hopefully they will let me inspect it tomorrow, apparently there is some damage, unsure to what extent yet, but I couldn't be happier :)

Yeah can't believe it. I've had a pretty shit year, first good thing to happen to me. Mind you, I haven't seen it yet, could be fucked, but the report said only slight damage. I'm arranging a carpark space inside for it tomorrow, it's never sitting outside again. Also on the hunt for a new insurance company.

Maybe a rebuild thread. I'm thinking about ditching the turbo and putting a supercharger on it. Apparently they can get more HP and torque out of these engines with this setup. How's my form, don't even have it in my hands and plans already
