Bought a running 18RC and 5spd for $200 to chuck in the Celica to get it moving while I 'accrue' more cash to rebuild the 18RGEU, other than that, not much, for at least 2 weeks now. Disappointing, meant to have it finished by my october deadline.

Installed new iphone compatible headunit in brothers e30, oil and filter change on that too.

Put rodded/cleaned/new end tanks radiator back in aw11 after flushing engine and lines etc. Pulled ignition barrel out and got the snapped off key that has been stuck in it for 2 years out. I will miss starting it with 5 cent piece :(

All pleasantly easy jobs considering normal mr2 fare :)

I installed the 74mm TB today. What a bitch that was for what would otherwise been a simple 20 minute job... The old BDL TB had the map sensor underneath. The bracket for the S/c slipped tight over the top so I couldn't get it off, so I had to undo the aftercooler, its hoses, undo the bracket, just to slip the map sensor plug off. Bolted the TB on, only to find the same problem of the butterfly not closing properly. Adjusted the throttle cable to where it needed to be and BAM problem fixed. There was probably nothing wrong with the old BDL one... I fail to understand how people call themselves mechanics where workshops charge about 80-120/hr if they can't adjust a simple TB cable... Old saying rings true, want something done right, you gotta do it yourself...

Anyway, put everything back together and now the car now idles solid each time, the only thing is its idling at 3000rpm  Way too high, should be about 1000rpm, however its a marked improvement from the old BDL setup with 1000, 1500, 2000, 3000, 3500, 2500 rpm idle variances it had before with the TB opening and TB cable not positioned right.

As for my Reichard Racing pulley.... dumbarses sent it by sea mail, not airmail as I paid and instructed them to do so, so now it wont arrive for another 4-6wks - which is unacceptable. Tomorrow I will throw on the smaller belt I ordered (1/2cm smaller, thus tighter fit) for the Reichard Racing pulley and hopefully that will fix my belt slip issues temporarily until the new pulley arrives in 4-6wks time.. I would of put the smaller belt on today, but it was getting dark in the backyard and looked like it was about to rain at any moment.

Nothing in your car is simple - don't you remember the fuckaround trying to get your intake manifold off?!

I enjoyed the rear right shock absorber in my car blow. Thats now the front two AND that one! what a fun trip it is, going down the highway on just springs.

Put the front end back together-ish. What an absolute clusterfuck of failure.

Every. Single. Last nut and bolt was rusted and siezed something ludicrous. Jesus tittyfucking christ. Just have to put the diff cover on, replace the tie rod end and then get a wheel alignment.

Seriously, this has been fucked.

BUT I WON THIS TIME, PAJERO.

Put pressure in the tyres as one was a bit low. Discovered it has a slow leak, now I have to refill it every 2-3 days. Its not worth getting it fixed for $30 as i'm getting new tyres next weekend. Found some wheels I like the look of for my daily but not sure if I should yet. ;)

Lol at chaserface and his dodgy stands. Seriously dude, you can buy car stands for like 40 bucks a pair new, and like 5-10 bucks each at swap meets.

Typical R31 driver. I hope you crash with that spool, cheap skate.

OT: dropping the car off at the gearbox specialist tonight so he can replace a couple of bits that are playing up. Will pick it up friday arvo and hopefully have zero rev flares on gear changes!

Drove it for more than 500m for the first time in over a month.
