Drove it tonight to Burpengary to pick up a bonnet, boot and guards for my brother-in-laws RX3 coupe. Used an average of 7.9L/ 100km over the 200ish kays. Not bad for an underpowered overweight six cylinder ute.
And made a deal with my brother-in-law to order me some coil overs when he's back in brisbane smile.gif
Now surfing the net looking for 20's for it. smile.gif

Checked whether or not I have a BHG, stupid 7M. Looks to be okay for now, will monitor it for a bit. This just might mean I have to start my conversion sooner smile.gif

it's worse when you're waiting on a business than mates! I had my S13 in a local workshop for over 2 months before they even touch it. and they only touched it because I told them to expect a car trailer the next day to come collect it and they still wanted money

Dear dairy,

I just got a new car and today, i legally am not allowed to drive it. Infact im grateful to even be able to sit in it. My flatmate reluctantly agreed to drive me to work in it as i needed to buy a bicycle after work.

I have no license and now my life sucks.

On a good note i will be installing HIDs tomorrow afternoon,
raising coilovers.
Researching how to make the diff spin TWO,
putting in a stereo
new tint,
claybar and wax.

Then all i have to do is wait 6 months.

Yep seems pretty stupid, the temptation to drive it would be always there. I could understand if you owned it before you lost your licence though.

Why not? I will need a car in 6 months time and it gives me something to look forward too, and tinker on. Plus friends can drive me around occasionally. Also when on the tune i dont want to seem like a loser with no license no car. Just a loser with no license.

Its been one day already and i havent driven it! Plus soon will be locked in the garage and parked in. I couldnt not get the car, deal was right.

driven it before you lost your license? how did you go with trying not to speed in the new car ? make any difference

Going by your previous cars before the 6months is up you will have traded the car. Possibly several times.

You're the only one that will make your self 'the loser with no car'. No car and saving while no license > Having a car and tempting to spend money on it, but cant do anything.


I've got a mate in your position, he's got epilepsy (spelling?), he cant drive for another 10 or so months, but won't sell his car. It's only a fucken Lancer which he's riced up, but won't sell it. I cant understand why.

Cant do alot to the car anyways. My list is short. Will drop every fluid imaginable also so its ready for some sweet vvt when i can drive again.

If i didnt lose my license i would not be riding my bike to work getting fit and i would not be using my 6 weeks annual and going overseas. Its not that bad and will make me appreciate driving and have a better perspective on life.

Topped up my radiator because my car decided to BLOW the HG on the weekend. Hmm Mx83 coming off the road prematurely for conversion time smile.gif. Need to buy a daily now too

Tried fitting the new subframe brace and thicker sway bar but the D-bracket doesn't clear my massive muffler.... Time to get exhaust modified sad.gif

put a reverse camera and screen in the triton so now i can see whats behind me under the height of about 4ft

took about 45 minutes from start to finish

Put the motor back in, wired it up, removed more weight, yada yada..

List of things done in the last week:

New alternator (again, after I had to send the last one back for a warranty claim).
New idler and tensioner pulley and belt for alternator.
Replace power steering pump mount.
Replace alternator feed to battery.

Gave it a full Service

New Plugs
New HPR40 Oil
New Oil filter
New Fuel Filter
New Air Filter

Removed the passenger window regulator to check the cable/pulley system and motor. Motor can't lift the weight of the window.



Pulled the casing off the motor and doused it in contact cleaner/checked the brushes. Still no go sad.gif
