Why would you need a better weld to weld cracks in a chassis? They should be welded up ground flat then have a plate over them with only the top and bottom welded I have a miller stick/tig on single phase, I could weld it with it. but this is more of an excause to get a mig and get flux core so i dont have to rent gas or anything and more suited for cars/panel work imo. i dont want to weld too many plates on(none would be better) since i dont want it picked up on rwc's etc |

You should be able to TIG thin shit without warping it or burning holes. I just welded the Monaro Scoop onto the VL's bonnet by stitching about 1/2 an inch, leaving 2 inches until it was one nice bead right the way around without any warping. Personally I'd rather use a TIG on thin shit over a Mig, but thats just me. |

Good effort on the power and 1/4 time. Whats the old girl weigh? Thanks dude. TBH I'm not 100% sure. Its been fully stripped from behind the back seats -> back, all plastics, carpets, sound deadening etc (which tbh I regret - wtb comfort) and a roll cage put in. so maybe 1100ish give or take? was just running street tyres tonight, at 20psi. 235.45.17 khumo ku31's. |
