Xh Falcon Ute Any Good?

looking into getting a falcon and a good xh 5speed with mild head and cam work. i dont want to be bying troble so what are any common faults with them, do there engines still have the head problems, and also what is the fuel consumption like on them? cheers

i got an xh..
only a standard motor and gear box..
i only ever had to replace thermostat and dizzy and coil..
i thrashed the shit out of it daily..

had an XG I just found ball joints went. Obviously if you don't keep an eye on the cooling the system the head gasket will go, not unlike any other car.

Best daily. I had an xg ( basically the same thing) and I flogged the ring out of it for 5 years day in day out and did 1 service the whole period. Only thing to watch is ball joints and the firewall tends to collapse around the clutch cable bracket after time on every manual ford. Easy fix, pull the cable out and weld a plate around the hole and make a better bracket. Highly recommend any 4 liter ford, cheap parts, easy to fix and I put 400,000 lm on mine and my mate owns it now and it still goes like a train
