Mate where do you live? Reason I'm asking is I've got a mate thats got one for sale and I think it's putting out 280kw at the wheels. It's a bloody nice car everything including paint is only 6mths old. Took out top VL at Holden V's Ford show in Brisbane this year.

yeah i own a vl calais...main problems i have found is the electrics are pretty average and a bitch to get fixed and the most common problem with them is the rust around and behind the front and rear windsreens...other than that they're a top car!
MOst calais turbos you'll find have been thrashed to the shithouse, so my advice is to look for one with a new turbo or one that has been GENUINELY looked after. wink.gif

also check inside the boot up the top for rust.
also lift the carpet up and have a look under there.
nothing worse than buying a rust bucket unsure.gif

tail lights are dodgy, and i managed to snap 4 tail shafts on my VL .. so watch them also.

ive been told that u can bolt the skyline heads on them which r a very stronger head is there any other advantage doing this?

as i want to use the nizpro manifold on my combo as well.
also im after a street/strip car what would u recommend on a vl calais setup auto or manual?

For street/strip i would probably go auto for the turbo calais....but keeping in mind my mates calais turbo manual ran solid 12s allday and it was his daily ride!

yea but ive heard that the manuals always shit 2nd & 3rd gear. so thats why im might go auto.
