there is no dipstick on the manual trasnmissions, you will need to jack it up to get to the bung and thread a peice of coat hanger in very carfully. or fill it as per the service book in your glovebox. |

going by the fact that its 'transmission fluid' and not 'gearbox oil' he is asking about, im going to assume its actually an auto. |

Try putting your hand brake on first, into neutral, foot off the brake to let the handbrake take the weight of the car, then engage Park. Might solve the crunching problem. my opinion too. if it only makes a slight clunk when parked on a hill its probably only pressure on the park pawl. As this guy says mate. When you pull up, first thing you should do it put your handbrake on tight. Then select park, then take your foot off the brake pedal. Otherwise a tiny little part of your gearbox has the whole weight of your car resting on it. |

Have a VZ Adventra (V6) and need to top up the transmission fluid. It is a 5 speed auto with the paddle shift option. I don't have a dipstick, so there must be a plug somewhere to top it up, but stuffed if I can find it. Any ideas?? |

Its been a while since ive worked on one but im pretty sure there is a bolt up the side of the gearbox to fill it up, then while its running in neutral fill it up till it leaks out, pretty sure im thinking about falcons though, just dont remember to well |

umm i dont think there is a dipstick on the 5l40-e tranny, its much like the a750 ect where there is a drain, level, and fill bung? correct me if im wrong but it also has to be checked at a cetain temp range to avoid overfilling, haha have seen a a750 overfilled because it wasnt run up to temp 1st ..blew oil out the breahter and set the car on fire! tread carefully dodgey backyarders.. also a piece of interesting trivia whilst on the topic of the falcon using zf trans, 1st service will set u bak around 1100 due to the plastic pan having the seal as one unit, the pan is replaced with an alloy one which the gasket can be changed on, top that with the super dooper special oil and whoooahhh there goes ur cash moneys |
