Thanks mate. Pretty bloody decent lights too!
And i notice a huuuuuge difference in on road handling without swaybars. Turning corners in my patrol is like tacking in a yacht. Everyone has to grab bars and lean out the inside windows. A trip to the shops in my patrol is like entering a sydney to brisbane yacht race.

New roof lights!!! All that is left on the list now is a snorkel, a UHF, and to finish building my 5L windsor V8 for the bastard. Straight gas. Sick of it failing on steep stuff.

When you say failing on steep stuff you meaning cause it's a carby,
Looking at getting a gq for a while now just for the odd weekend and take
On some extremer stuff, have you found it to fail you doing
Water crossings, I would love a diesel but all out off my price range
So I'm left with, petrol Efi or petrol carby/gas

Mine is pretty high so takes a decent amount of water to have it soak the motor, and i dont even have a snorkel. Ive simply sealed it well enough to prevent splashing on the distributor/plugs/coil etc so unless im in water more than 120cm or so deep, i have no real problem. Ive been through water and had my engine fan spray my entire engine with water and had no dramas, but a diesel motor is definitely better in that sense.
And yes is fails on steep stuff being carburetored. Big angles cause floats to open right up and flood it (typically uphill - causes a big puff of petrol smoke when it fires back up) and they shut off completely down a hill thats too steep, resulting in engine shutting off and taking my brakes and power steering with it!!! Not cool! Uphill tho, i just keep it in a lower gear so i can keep the revs up enough to burn the fuel she's dumping and its no problem, and downhill i just keep it in gear so it keeps chugging the motor over.
If you know you will be doing a lot of water corssings - go diesel. If you are just going to be doing hilly stuff and end up with a petrol, find an EFI one, or a carbie one that is on gas as well. Thats why im ditching the 4.2 petrol (even tho its a great solid engine - not a drama with it) in favor of a 5.0L on straight gas. Will have no petrol system whatsoever.

Couple vids of the lift in action. Not to happy with how the front end is working. It needs the rear to max out before it will drop into the holes. Maybe a rear sway bar will fix it?

Finally wired them up - MONUMENTAL difference to night visibility - on and off road. Two spots in the centre and a spread beam either side. Wired up with an on-off-on switch that allows me to turn them on anytime, or have them go on-off with my high beams. Love it!
