yeah, but im not just talking about injectors. Turbo as well. Why use a T28 or a GT2871 working its tits off to make that power, go bigger, run less boost. It's all about efficiency. Do it right, do it once. Ideally you don't really want your injectors over 80% duty cycle, yes they can do it, but its not ideal. Yes, a t28 can run 280hp, but why run the turbo on its highest setting. All turbo's have an efficiency range, and whilst people are doing it, there are better, and more efficient ways of doing it (on lower boost). Lower boost = lower temps = running better/longer/more efficiently/longer. just cause old matey ran everything at max and stressed the balls out of everything for years doesn't mean it will work for everyone else and/or is the best setup to run. less boost=less boost. simple ![]() |

^^ What sort of work? I've been using since ive had my car on the road. I've never used another workshop and don't intend too. I have found their service to be excellent and my tunes have always been great. Making plenty of power with reliability. With every workshop you here horror story's, but there are always small details that the story teller leaves out. heaps,of mixed jobs they left my main groud wire loose on the block . heaps of finger tight bolts in the areas there were working on. charged me a fortune for average work they cant tune a highly modded sr very well |

If you want to talk ideally/more efficiently/etc you dont run any larger than a gt2860rs (at least in the garrett range), doesnt mean a gt2871r isnt a reasonable (and cost effective) compromise for a bit more power while sticking with the t25/t28 flange with the stock manifold. The gt2876r and larger are terrible turbos, but they exist because they are 'drop-in' upgrades - again so people can keep it simple and stick with the stock t25/t28 flange and manifold. |

i can half agree on the turbo, it can do it but some will last longer than others that is a bit of a gamble but at the end of the day for $180 he can get a t28 from this site in the sale section, its a good buy and it will last a while and get some decent figures out, yes it wont last for ever but maybe a year or more, id go with that option and get a nistune or power fc first if money was an issue, but 80% duty cycle on injectors is fine, the recommended it 75% max duty cycle and thats from any decent tuner what really is another 5% I didnt say 80% wasnt fine? |

Not at all, I'm just interested in his reasoning behind his beef with the shop. I'm not trying to sway his decision. He's allowed to vent, just like I'm allowed to ask why. bahh lol your a funny man, u tell me if these are cheap parts hks cam gears and shafts and valve springs garrett 3071r hks fuel rail with hks injectors ive spent more on the head on my sr than people have buying there whole car obviously theres alot more mods than that but enough for u to know I dont do cheap Sorry, I only thought you where doing it cheap because in all of your topics it was about t28s and second hand injectors. I understand you've had issues, but blaming rob and calling his tuning sub par is going abit far. I also have a sr with a supertech head , I haven't had any problems with the tunes I've recieved. What was done to your head? |
