Lately ive seen alot of people on the road having trouble indicating around roundabouts so ive posted up the basics so people can clear up basic errors made.

If the lanes approaching the roundabout are marked with arrows, make sure you follow their direction.
If you’re planning to turn left:
Approach the roundabout in the left lane or line of traffic.
Signal left as you approach the roundabout.
Continue to signal left as you exit the roundabout.
Turn your indicator off after you’ve exited.

If you want to drive straight ahead on a roundabout:
You can approach without signaling.
But make sure you signal left as you exit if it’s practical to do so.
Turn your indicator off after you’ve left the roundabout.

To make a right turn:
Approach the roundabout in the right lane or line of traffic.
Signal right as you approach the roundabout.
Continue to signal right until you are ready to exit.
Signal left before you exit the roundabout if it’s practical to do so.
Turn your indicator off after you’ve left the roundabout.

The same rule applies if you intend driving beyond the right turn exit

now here is a indicator- i know to some of you this will be foreign
now to indicate right u pull that leaver down.
now to turn left u pull the leaver up

so hopefully to the deadshits out there this helps you with basic road rules. so now u dont have to indicate right to go straight which is a very common thing i see

enjoy

what if the car is european? dunno.gif

and i also need to get into the habit of indicating when leaving a roundabout, but honestly it doesnt annoy me when others dont do it.
i also dont think theres any need to indicate out of a round about if your going straight.

For the record, the indicator to leave the roundabout should be applied as soon as you have past the last exit prior to the one you are using........... Basically, show your INTENTION to leave, rather than telling people what you are already doing. The same thing applies when changing lanes.

ALSO, on a side note............. The person changing lanes is required to GIVE WAY. Putting on your indicator does not mean others magically have to give way to you.

it also annoys me people indicate for half a second then just change lanes. is it really that hard to keep it on till your 2/3 in the next lane

the thing that shits me to tears with this is

- people indicate right to go straight
- people dont give way when going right around a round about on the opposite side to where u start ive had many a close call from people just slowing down and nailing it rather than just waiting 2 mins for me to get round and be gone

indicating at roundabouts is obviously REALLY important, but people just dont seem to get it. Time and time again theres always someone who doesn't indicate and turns right. For this reason alone im always cautious about approaching a roundabout when someones on it and not indicating. You can usually tell if they are going to turn right because theyll be going marginally slower. People just tearing through roundabouts (if its a busy roundabout) assuming everyone is following the road rules is also pretty stupid.

Impatience when waiting to enter is also an annoyance. A few times ive been beeped by faggots to go when if i had entered it would have been a dam close call from other cars going around. Irony is that if I did go (albeit with a bootfull of acceleration) unless the fuckwit behind me was millimeters from my bumper going into the roundabout he sure as hell wouldnt have made it. You have to think is all that fuckwitism and a possible crash worth an added 5-10 seconds of your time?

Fuck i hate that!! The dozen or so roundabouts along Pitcain way in pacific pines is a good example of this shit.

grenade................ I totally agree, alot of learners are in that area (pitcairn way is part of a test route) and thier friggin parents teach them to signal right to go straight. Useless pricks. Get your kids some driving lessons people, the cost is nothing when you consider the safety of your children.

And as an added bonus, the accredited driver trainer actually knows whats going on.

My top ten favorite road rules

1. If your approaching the roundabout the fastest, you have right of way.
2. The 80 sign is just advisory, 60 is the actual speed, especialy in the right lane
3. If your unsure of where to go, drive extremely slow, tap your brakes every few seconds to show other drivers your unaware
4. When theres a driver in the right lane going well under the speed limit, just do the same speed.
5. If your travelling in the LH lane, and someone is looking to merge , stay in your lane and dont move over to let others in, they enjoy the wait
6. In traffic, go as fast as you can for the shortest time possible, dont go easy to avoid bunching up.
7. Intersections, make sure you creep as far as possible out blocking all the other drivers views, they were only looking at the scenery anyway.
8. Turning off a street into another, make sure you swing out as wide as possible, you need it at 60
9. Parking, parking must take at least 3 attempts otherwise the park will be invalid and you will be fined.
10. When someone is behind you whilst your going at least 10k's under the speed limit on the rhs and they flash their lights, tap your brakes, its a game to see if you can do it at the same time, like paper scissors rock. If you loose you need to merge to the left, like all the other peanuts being extra safe.

i wont enter a roundabout, or turn against traffic until i see that fuker is turning, not just cause his indicator is on they are turning.

top ten = fucking hilarious. also = about 93% of all drivers out there. as for indicating on roundabouts. people are just dumb and confused, and are confident about not knowing what the fuck to do; im sure people just hold their index finger out whilst gripping the steering wheel with their right hand to trigger the indicating stalk everytime their hand passes it. only plausible explanation for why their indicating the way they are on roundabouts.

at the end of the day you give way to the right on a round about doesnt matter if they indicate or not. treat every other fool on the road like they have know idea...

The thing that i hate the most is tail gaters if i cant see your bonnet im on the brakes. 1 st time is a warning to back the fu$% off.
2nd time there is no warning im on the brakes and will come to a complete stop. if you have not got the hint this time you will end up with a tow bar through your radiator..

the 2nd thing i hate is if theres a good gap in traffic and i indicate to get in the left lane eg. transit lane. and the ass behind in the lane i want to be in speeds up closing the gap...........GRRRRRRR i learnt this going through brissy..... if you look over your shoulder to merge in the ass will speed up every time. so now i dont even look i indicate for a good 10 flashes and then slowly move over. yes you may think im the asshole but trust me it works because they didnt see you look over your shoulder they think twice about closing the gap...

not sure if this works in all vehicles but it works every time in a patrol...
