For those that DO STL (or know people who STL), you had best watch out because certain photographers at these meets are taking pictures of you skidding and handing it over to the police.

I have heard threats like this over several forums on many occasions, yet I never hear any one ever following through with it...

It's not a threat, I'm not a photographer. I'm just passing on some info that I was told.

Those v8's seriously surprised me in how goo they performed

I'm a little surprised by this comment, but I think alot of people just don't realise the potential of V8's.

photograph proves nothing, only that the car was there.

then you'd need to make a statement, identifying the driver etc, for the police to even bother looking at it, and i'm yet to see how a static photograph shows something in motion, like wheels spinning.

i'm not saying this to make a threat, but if a person was to stand up and give evidence in a court of law against another enthusiast, well look what happened with the foot incident. people will be getting stabbed next. you guys need to settle down and let the police handle it. seems that they're on the ball.

Yet if the said photographs turned up on here it'd be instantly moderated because of apparent legal repercussions for Boost? GG.

From what I was told said photographer/s is actually taking photos of the cars skidding. I honestly don't care though, I go there, enjoy the scene with my mates and leave in a legal manor. I was just passing on some info because I think its a fucking dog act to do. As you said, cops can handle it, it's their job.

The shitters need to park next door, too many parks taken up with crap standard 20 year old hatchbacks..........

you want a 'good' spot, get there early in my opinion, do you expect someone to move their pride and joy because you have a nicer car/bigger bank account?

I seen where you parked, so I have no idea why you're complaining? unsure.gif

Then it was turned up, distorted and failed... did however make me point and laugh.

About the parking... i couldn't find a park first time through, so i just went around again. Sure enough, found a spot near the front on the left.

I think its more thinking the car weight would slow them more than it did although 8's are made to produce big torque

As much as you guys want to complain about weight in a v8 look at the 2 fastes Aussie production cars the hsv gts , and the fpv f6 , both cars do near a 12 second pass in stock form , if I'm correct the f6 does it in a high 12 these are from 2 cars that weigh close to 2 ton . Even my landbarge gets up and moves both of them do. Trust me there is no replacement for cubic displacement

And even then if people think they can substitute displacement with a turbo, you can do the exact same thing with a v8.
I am a fan of both turbo 4/6's and all v8s I like them all.

Yea but I guess it always begs the question of what would it be like if that motor was in a vehicle weighing 800kgs less since they pull so well with all that weight. I'm not detracting from the cars I use to have a much lower level of respect for those cars till that night I am glad i saw what I did as it helps prevent me from being narrow minded and making uneducated comments about landbarges oopsie.gif

Not sure what you're laughing out loud about, but most cars today are around 1600+kg. It's the neverending cycle of adding gear for compliance, features, trends etc etc.

Roughly 20% is a lot of extra weight. It's a shame really, but they don't really have much choice without blowing build costs through the roof.

To be honest the amount of power you push out of them the weight is probly still needed to hold the power down, honestly your quickest cars on the streets are gtr's = decent rubber and awd and lighter, your ls1 commodore and turbo falcons , and supra's. Now look at the varying factors in all those cars. The gap boys can squeeze decent rubber in , they are a fraction lighter , but motors work harder to do the same job. Look at your vt-vx commodore , and ba-fg falcon , good luck squeezing more than a 255 under it's arse, they have more torque instantainoisly and the weight does hold it's own in tractability rights.

I love my imports but what's the use of having boost with a decent size turbo at 5k on a street car, I'd rather have 500rwhp @ 5500 rpm compared to , 500 @ 7-8000rpm.
Turbo v8's IMHO are a huge win smile.gif
Sam- touch my interior and we will have to make babies

That amount could be 4 occupants in the car. It does make a difference.
