[attachment=1410230:my_nav1.jpg] [attachment=1410231:my_nav2.jpg] [attachment=1410232:comparison_lol.jpg] Loving the D40 Nav! Although the bar work isnt my cup of tea... Another pic of my triton, out at landcruiser. What appeared to be a small ledge was actually a natural vert ramp. Didnt break or bend anything... Somehow. Also, awesome photo timing. |

Here Geoffwee Pretty sure he bought it with the Chev already in it ? ![]() Thanks Twist. You can see the dirty intake to the engine, it originally pointed the other way directly into the turbo. Non intercooled when I got it. The FMIC made a noticeable difference to torque and power. I also had to install a heavy duty clutch. Whatever they had in it was starting to slip in 4th gear when going up inclines. The 80 series itself was originally sold through the Toyota dealership at Toowoomba to a farmer in Goondiwindi. I would have to look at the mod plate to see who did the Chev install, but I have a feeling it was Motsons, although it's been years since I have read it, but their name comes to mind for some reason. They traded it in after 130K on the entire car. Engine conversion cost them just shy of 20K, I picked up the whole car for 21.5K over 5 years ago. They said it had never been on the beach, and when I did the inspection, I used a fibre optic viewing scope with a 2 metre extension to look down the chassis rails, and they weren't bullshitting. Paint work rough as guts from sitting out in the weather, but could not find any signs of beach use, even pulling up the carpet inside in a few spots. The car yard had promised it to some rich dude down the coast that wanted it to tow his huge boat. He never left any deposit, I walked in and paid cash and drove it away. He finds out and abuses the salesman, so they called me to ask if I was willing to sell to him for 3 grand more than I paid. My reply was "Ask him how much he wants to sell this boat that he can no longer tow for, I've got cash". The salesman wet himself laughing and said I'll take that as a big no. |
